Nice to hear the breakdown on the prospects we received at the td. We should all understand that we weren’t going to get ML ready elite prospects back for rentals. But it sounds like these guys have some elite skills that can be added to and hopefully our new improved player developement system can work with them and move them along towards the major leagues.

I really enjoyed the in depth discussion of Matthews. After he blew through the system in 2024, I thought we were onto something big. Now I’m in wait and see mode, and feel okay about it. Still looking forward to how it all pans out for Matthews.
Kyle talks with an in depth, and fully researched, appraisal of players and pitchers. Love his enthusiasm. Brian is always right there, fully informed, as you might expect. Thanks for a very entertaining show.
Yeah Mud, I keep thinking what if they hadn’t promoted Matthews to AAA and just shut him down for the season to rest or promoted him but just let him take a few bullpen innings here and there to get a taste of AAA. Maybe his shoulder would have held up and he could have quickly mastered AAA this season and gotten some spot starts and some bullpen MLB action this year. I think sometimes we need to slow down and not get in a rush with guys.
Just found time to listen to the podcast. Thanks as always. I was anxious to see Wetherholt in September but after watching I think we need to leave him in Memphis until st. Nothing really to be gained for him and we need to continue getting as many at bats as possible for Gorman and Saggese. Those are the guys along with Burleson Noot and Walker that we have to make decisions on this winter.
This latest podcast was fantastic. I really enjoyed it…you guys seem to be hitting your stride. It reminds me of two (very informed) fans sitting around talking ball, which I like. I learned quite a bit about some guys in the system this week. Thanks for taking the time to post this for us, BW.
Something tells me it’s in our best interst as fans to spruce up on these guys on Brian and Kyles list. We are going to be seeing them a lot in the future.

Given the importance of the farm to the organization’s future, I am kind of surprised that more fans aren’t getting into the minors. Instead, it seems like when the MLB team struggles, interest in everything baseball related drops. Perhaps more of the rabid fans move down to the casual fan interest level.
There’s a bunch of good players at Springfield. I haven’t been down there since Walker, Winn, Gomez, McGreevy, and Graceffo were all there at the same time. I’m heading down there for a weekend before AAA season ends. Last weekend in August and Sept 12-14 are the weekend series left.

Enjoyed the last several sessions when talking about the draftees. After the draft, I always enjoy looking up the stats. Not only the top 5 draftees, but part of it is to see if there are any that stick out in later rounds. Guys who might be dark horses in the future.
1.) Doyle – 164 Ks in 95.2 innings in the SEC. BAA of .184
2C.) Franklin – 52 Ks in 38.2 IP in the SEC.
3.) Gurevitch – OPS of 1.158, 17 HRs in 229 ABs.
4.) Crossland – 84 Ks in 68.1 IP.
5.) Young – 92 Ks in 70.1 IP
10.) Van Dyke – 71 Ks in 47.1 IP
12.) Echeman – 87 Ks in 56 IP
15.) Haskins – .945 OPS for Stanford in 221 ABs

Always enjoy the podcast and generally agree with what is being talked about. However, today I am not quite in agreement with the comments on Jordan Walker. I have been rooting for Jordan to get it going and still holding out hope he makes it. I have been wandering why nothing seems to be working. If he is mentally not ready to make the changes required and the coaches have been working with him all year, then a little added pressure to get him to accept that change needs to be made for his benefit and that of team seems warranted. If this was the beginning of the year, then I would tend to agree with the comments of Kyle and Brian, but not now.
Thank you for watching and for the comments, menk. We will see if public airing of the matter will provide the needed motivation. No matter what is tried, there is risk involved. As an aside, Walker sat last night.
Is a Ryan Fernandez update possible? His April and August are opposites. Did he make pitch changes while he was demoted? Mechanical issues?
I couldnt agree more with Kyle and Brian on the Walker fiasco. Kyle stated it perfectly. Im tired of this org. I still enjoy following the players, but this fo has worn me out. This last deal is just another embarrassment. Time to clean house and bring some class back to the organization. I was on the fence about Oli, but no more. He let this happen.
