He said direct quote he’s in this for the long haul. He’s not doing anything that isn’t in the best interest of the long term health of the organization. He clearly intends to be here longer than the 5 year deal.
I know that-but apparently the problems with the permits still exist. Thats fine I can do my own research if you don’t have any information about it. Thanks anyway.

I was reading that the Cardinals pitching lab efforts had hit a snag with permitting for the structure. Can Brian or anyone else share any information about this?

I guess I didn’t really word that right- Would Contreras be more interested in staying/ would Yadi be more interested in keeping him as a veteran presence
Brian- Do you think bringing Molina in would have any effect on whether or not they traded Contreras?
If that is the case then we know who the manager will be in 2027.

Cardinals are talking with Molina about full time coaching job. Maybe Chaim isn’t so dumb after all. Molina is a better get than Pujols.
Bringing Marmol back clearly bothers some people more than others. I think it was Blooms decision. So he must be most comfortable without the transition to a new manager at this time. Im fine with it. I would prefer he focus on getting better players.

I was keeping my mind open to your idea of hiring Pujols. I agree with many out there that hiring Pujols isn’t a good idea. 4th rookie manager in a row. If he sucks you want to be the guy that fires Albert Pujols? But now that I think about it more it’s a horrible idea. I close my mind.
Willie/JJ- I like to think I keep an open mind. If you don’t consider new ideas, you don’t learn anything new. I read both of your posts and and both have value. I don’t just discount them because of my own opinions.

I think it is. I think it’s where all of Blooms effort is being focused. You never know. Maybe Oli’s team improves fundamentally under the direction of someone besides Mo. It’s widely reported he is well liked by players. That’s not a small thing in today’s game. Be fair. Our record could have been a lot worse. It’s easy to cherry pick all the mistakes and point them out. All managers make them.
I look forward to Bloom’s overhaul of our roster. It’s construction is horrid. Let’s see where it’s at on opening day. Bloom decided not to bring in another rookie manager and coaching staff. We will find out soon enough whether that was a good move. At the very worst it’s a neutral move. There isn’t a manager in the history of the game that turns this into a winning roster without a complete and carefully orchestrated overhaul. And if people want to think ownership doesn’t care about winning, that’s your privilege. But they lost a million fans and all the revenue that comes with them and all the profit attached to the revenue. Common sense tells you they want those fans and revenue back. The only way to do that is win.

You are right. Blooms going to earn his paycheck. I still think we will need a couple years to straighten it out and Bloom is the right guy for the job.
The most likely arb guys to get traded are Donnie, Noot, and/or Gorman.
If they trade those 3 guys, it thins the lh herd. It also leaves us needing 2 outfielders if you move Burly to first. Where Willy? Traded? DH? You playing Saggesse at third? It’s going to be interesting.
I think Herrera might be one of the only guys who they won’t trade Bling. Only because he’s right handed and our roster is so lh heavy.
Im way less cynical than you guys. We just changed leadership Tuesday. I will at least give it until opening day before making any kind of judgements. Our current roster blows. Let’s see what he does to change that.
Also It was implied we will get some sort of pitching help for this team next season. My guess is what he gets to spend ties into if he can get rid of Gray, Nado and Contreras. Still I don’t expect there to be any lavish spending.
I agree. I believe it doesn’t require lavish spending. It requires smart spending (Milwaukee), pitching help, and luck.(Wetherholt blows it up, one of Walker or Gorman finally perform)
