Yep Dom we need to trade 2 Nolans for 1 Manny. Manny is in the playoffs and hit a 2 run bomb. Nolans are wondering where they will play next year.
I think I won’t listen to it. Sounds like he’s still in denial. It’s like a divorce. Remember the good times and move on.

Scott and Walker at the Chaim Bloom school of how to play in the major leagues. I wonder if that’s close to the Chaim Bloom school of how to catch in the majors? Pitchers dont go to schools. They go to labs.
I think it will be interesting to hear what Bloom has to say about their plan for Walker. And unlike the previous regime, I expect them to have a plan.
I wasn’t going to watch but too tired to do anything else. Looking forward to some positive vibes about the club. Hope Bloom is all that.
Walkers homerun yesterday caught my eye. He and Gorman both were clearly far below major league standards in 2025. And I dont hear anyone wanting them back in 2026. I think Gorman is what we see. A streaky power hitter who strikes out a lot when he’s not going well. I think there’s a chance he can improve to some degree. But even than, is that the player we want? Poor defense and speed, streaky with lots of k’s? Our total lack of power in the organization has to be what’s keeping him around.
Walker, on the other hand, is a different case in my opinion. I truly believe they screwed this guy up with the way they have handled him. They brought him up too soon while teaching him a new position, than tried to change his swing for good measure. We are seeing the result of their wisdom.
I watched his homerun yesterday multiple times. His swing appeared to me like it was timed differently. Smoother. Like maybe he wasn’t swinging as hard. Did anyone else notice or is it just wishful thinking on my part. I think (hope) there’s still a chance he can be the right handed outfielder we need.Bottom line Mike-baseball is really hard at the big league level. Players respond differently. Some guys show up unheralded and tear it up. Other guys come highly regarded and struggle or flame out completely. That’s why they pay these egg heads all that money to invent metrics. They try to predict who is going to do what. They don’t seem any more successful than the players whose performance they are trying to predict. As our old buddy Joaquin Andujar used to say-ya just never know!.
Liberatore doesn’t need more innings. He pitched almost twice as many this year as last. The air is out of the 2025 balloon. Shutting him down is the correct move.

Well that’s about it for me for 2025. I have to work tomorrow and Sunday I have no reason to waste the afternoon watching the bitter end. I will be waiting anxiously for Blings eulogy.

That’s great, but he can’t throw anyone out at the present time. If their catcher symposium turns him into at least an average catcher, than fine. There’s lots of reasons that’s good. But right now he is not playable at that position. He is at DH.

Not only that but I think when a guy is playing a position he isn’t comfortable with it can impact his offense in a negative way.
I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.
Leave him at DH and let him rake.
I know I’m in the minority, but I’ve always felt dh is a position. It takes the right guy to stay engaged in the game physically without playing in the field. Herrera is good at it. Leave him there.
Leahy may be ok…but Mathews is going to have a rough go at the big league level, since he can’t find the plate.
I don’t think Bloom brings him up unless he’s ready. And he wasn’t at the end of 25. As you say, he couldn’t find the plate.
Thanks for doing all the legwork Brian so we get to just sit and listen to the minor league updates and player evaluations. Anxious to see how all the injured pitchers recover for 2026. Also congratulations to Springfield!
