OMG is that Vada Pinson, Dom? I should have looked closer at the “C” on the cap. I thought it was a young Banks!
I also don’t concider them a true (hated) rival. They play in a different state and and time zone and it’s a 6 hour drive to Chi’ for Crissakes!
I hate the friggin Royals since the Deckenger debacle. The REAL Central div rivals are Cubs/Brwers. Cub fans POUR into Milwaukee like rats in Hamlin town and make more noise than Brew fans!
These guys clipped us 2-3 games in St. Louis last year. I would normally say we need to return the favor this year

That’s an interesting observation Machi. Could be one of two things in my mind: Bonds was hated for the creep he was by opposing managers and didn’t want to get beat by him, or the league requested teams to pitch to to Judge for the good of our faltering game
Can’t be a trivia question ‘cuz it’s opinion but the greatest feat by a DC team (or any other team) was pitched in three consecutive games in a Weekend series in 1908. Train started on September 4, 5, and 7, and he shut out the Yankees in all 3 games!

kudos for getting 4, but you are absolutely gonna hate yourself for not getting 1 all-time great and another big name from the A.L. who was quite well known (and adored by the ladies) in the 50sLast week we talked about the rarity of hitting for the cycle. Now let’s talk about a feat even rarer: FOUR homer guys. But 1st here’s a little nugget from the dead ball era:
The 1st to do it was a Boston Bean Eater by the name of Rob Lowe (no relation) that hit out 4 in the gay 90’s, (2 inside the park) and 2 over the fence. Less than 20 guys have done it
The challenge is to name 3 of them for 1 oven mitt, and name a 4th for the complete set.
A little hint: One is a player that even casual fans can name. 3 more are players that all the forum geeks around here know of …but a 5th or more? Oy Ve! You deserve the whole damn kitchen!
