RHP Michael McGreevy vs. LHP Clayton Kershaw
FanDuel // KMOX // WIJRJune 7, 2025 at 11:38 am #284316Michael McGreevy will indeed take a spot start Sunday in the series finale against LAD. Will keep the rotation on a six-day schedule during this stretch of 13 straight games. Cardinals will reevaluate what they do with McGreevy (whether he takes another one) after tomorrow.

June 7, 2025 at 4:04 pm #284355Absolutely great to see that McGreevy gets the start tomorrow. Hoping for a great start from him. It is not great to see they don’t know if there are. If someone had a clue what they were doing they would put McGreevy in Pallante’s rotation spot going forward.
June 8, 2025 at 2:31 am #284369Quietly now (he whispers). We don’t want to awaken the sleeping giant.
June 8, 2025 at 4:59 am #284371They’re sweepable. You’re not going to have a golden opportunity to sweep these Dodgers often. They came into town ripe for the picking. Have to get them now because it’s not going to be pretty when they get us back in their yard in early August. Need a big game from Victor Scott and obviously McGreevy today. The later having yet to disappoint in a starting assignment with the big club.
June 8, 2025 at 7:38 am #284372Pugs, what do you think about this McGreevy dude?

June 8, 2025 at 11:32 am #284387That’s the lineup I’d send out there today, except I’d have VSII in CF.
Rah Cardinals!June 8, 2025 at 11:36 am #284388
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe last time Barrero started was May 12th. Did you take the over on once a month? Lol!
June 8, 2025 at 12:03 pm #284390Pugs, what do you think about this McGreevy dude?
I think he’s the real deal, Carter. Every opportunity he’s had with the big club, he’s brilliantly shined. For me it’s been a total mystery as to why he hasn’t seen more action in St. Louis.
June 8, 2025 at 12:22 pm #284392The weather looks good for this one today. All clear. Should have no problems getting this one in.
And din din today will be a ribeye steak in the air fryer, some jumbo crinkle cut french fries, deviled eggs, a Pepsi, and a chocolate shake for dessert. All of this at the time of the 1st pitch. Then me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the rest of the game with our 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.
June 8, 2025 at 1:08 pm #284399Well, the family just polished off a lovely veal roast with baked potatoes slathered in butter and a crunchy green salad, all washed down with a nice Medoc. We topped off with a slice each of CiF’s famous blueberry pie. I’ll take a cup of coffee with me downstairs to watch a few minutes of the pre-game blah blah before first pitch.
Let’s try to up those averages a bit tonight for Rat … and me.
Rah Cardinals!
June 8, 2025 at 1:19 pm #284400
jj-cf-stlParticipantHow do you throw 3 strikes and have a 2-1 count?
June 8, 2025 at 1:23 pm #284401
jj-cf-stlParticipantHome plate ump sure wanted some LA runs. Beyond generous.
June 8, 2025 at 1:24 pm #284402They really hit McGreevey hard in the first. Fortunately, we caught 2 of those super hard hit liners.
Come on boys, let’s rough up Kershaw just for old time’s sake.
June 8, 2025 at 1:27 pm #284403
jj-cf-stlParticipantOf course Kershaw gets off the plate.
June 8, 2025 at 1:29 pm #284404JJ – that one was 4 inches to the left of the better one McGreevey had called a ball. Crazy.
June 8, 2025 at 1:31 pm #284405
jj-cf-stlParticipantUmpiring has an agenda.
June 8, 2025 at 1:31 pm #284406
jj-cf-stlParticipantFanduels?
June 8, 2025 at 1:32 pm #284407HP umpire doing his best to help the Dodgers from being swept.
Unless McGreevy can get his pitches down it might not matter.
June 8, 2025 at 1:33 pm #284408According to Gameday – It was a strike to Contreras but about as borderline as it gets. The one to Donovan wasn’t even close to a strike. And the 2 “balls” McGreevey threw to Freeman were both easy strikes – especially the second one. Frustrating.
June 8, 2025 at 1:40 pm #284409Everything is up for McGreevey. 7 of the first 9 Dodger hitters with exit velocities over 100 mph according to announcers.
June 8, 2025 at 1:43 pm #284410
jj-cf-stlParticipantWhen he gave Freeman 5 strikes it was captain obvious intentions. We don’t see this nightly.
June 8, 2025 at 1:46 pm #284411Well, Pugs the real deal is more a real meal for the Dodgers 🙁
June 8, 2025 at 1:49 pm #284412Heck of an effort by Winn.
McGreevy is getting hit hard but he showed a little toughness the last 2 batters to grind it out.
