Two very comfortable games so far. Let’s sweep up the last one in NY with more of that heart-warming offense.
I would love to see a continuation of last night’s thumping of the Mets – strike early and squeeze ’em late. Winning is so much fun!
Rah Cardinals.Din-din tonight, I’m afraid to say, was leftovers. We finished off last night’s chicken breast and cream concoction and chocolate cake without regrets.
Well, it’s 2:30 a.m. and sleep is tugging at my eyelids. I’ll leave it to the rest of you to bring this baby safely home. Gnite.
Din-din in just a few minutes will be a speciality of Madame CiF, prepared ce soir by Monsieur CiF: chicken breasts sauteed in butter then popped into the oven with a blanket of tomatoes, onions and gouda with cumin and a cream sauce, baked potatoes, and chocolate cake for dessert.
Haven’t seen a lineup yet but have a feeling it might be interesting.

It’s been clear for some time now that Gorman needs to be given a bus ticket out of town and Victor Scott’s fine defense in CF is not enough to avoid getting a seat on the same bus. Unfortunately, that leaves the Cardinals with rummaging through the broken toys in the bottom of the box for significantly better replacements.
Bike Mike: Firmin at 3rd? Why not. Seems it’s either that or wait around for for the system to one day magically squirt out a hot new item for third.
My question is, has the Cardinal brain trust abandoned the idea of an every-day catcher? How long are we going to play musical backstops?
Somewhere out there in the world of baseball, in our system or somebody else’s, there must be a competent third baseman who can hit better than .200. Why can’t we find him and make a reasonable deal? Isn’t that what GMs do?
Din-din to warm up for a battle with the guys from Cincinnati tonight will begin with a nice cold cantaloupe melon, followed by chaussons aux legumes, a sort of vegetable turnover, washed down with iced tea. Dessert will be a bowl of fruit salad.
It seems management has begun to tinker, which should be fun to watch. Let’s push that thermometer back up to 10 over!

We too went the vegetarian route tonight, quenelles topped with a mushroom sauce aurore. Iced tea was the beverage and strawberries the dessert.
