I am with this decision 100%.
The Best Fans in Baseball have spoken!
Starting this weekend, we will be returning to navy caps as our primary road cap! pic.twitter.com/TGrNII12YE

August 12, 2026 at 12:02 pm #315957Phew! I’m glad we got that sorted. Now if we only could get rid of The Lou.
August 12, 2026 at 12:59 pm #315958Love the navy caps and glad they are bringing them back as the primary road look ( as you no doubt can tell from my avatar).
The one thing the organization missed out on this year, unless they did something and I have not seen it, is a tribute to our first Cardinals’ World Championship 100 years ago. I thought we would see a commemorative patch on a sleeve, or maybe a game or series celebrating that club.

August 12, 2026 at 2:37 pm #315966They could have at least had an Old Pete Day allowing everyone with a paid admission to redeem their valid ticket stub for a free case of beer and a 250 count bottle of Advil.
August 12, 2026 at 4:29 pm #315978…or given out an “Old Pete” or Rogers Hornsby bobblehead. At the White Sox game I went to a couple of weeks ago they were promoting an upcoming game where they were giving out Shoeless Joe bobble heads.
The Cardinals promotion department missed the boat on this one. Seriously, they should do something.
August 12, 2026 at 4:42 pm #315979They were probably preoccupied with “Adult T-Shirt Day.” I’ve been led to understand that things tend to get pretty wild and racy during that particular promotional giveaway…
August 12, 2026 at 5:48 pm #315983Do away with the navy caps.
Bring back the red caps for both home and road.
August 12, 2026 at 6:12 pm #315984Those navy blues are classic, with the red StL logo on the navy hats. Love ’em!
Edit: wish I could get pictures to post on here but it never works.

August 12, 2026 at 6:52 pm #315990In my view there’s no question that the road greys with the navy caps are the best looking attire whenever the Cardinals are eating hotel food. I think it’s the best road uniform in the Big Leagues. I also think they should limit the home threads to the bright white with birds on the bat, classic Cardinals cursive and the StL red cap. Everyone knows where they’re from so, in my estimation, there’s no need to place St. Louis on the jersey. And whoever came up with the idea to have “Watercloset” emblazoned on either the home or road jersey must be a card carrying Cub’s fan. It’s stupid.

When you type a comment, click on “IMG”, which is about halfway across the gray bar just above the typing area. A popup window will open. Paste in the URL of the photo and click OK twice. That is it.

Now if we only could get rid of The Lou.
The first time I saw that, I thought next we will see The 314.
August 12, 2026 at 8:58 pm #316000Trying too hard to sell merch. These alternate identities were being pushed all across MLB. (In the minors, they are crazy.)
August 12, 2026 at 11:13 pm #316015I can’t help but wonder what comments were made when the Navy blue caps were replaced by the current red caps.
August 13, 2026 at 10:50 am #316031My preference is simplicity. White uni’s at home with red caps. Gray uni’s on the road with red caps.
No “The Lou” on Friday nights.
No “St. Louis” on the creamsicle jerseys on Saturday home games.
No powder blue jerseys on Saturday away games.
No Redbird on the Sunday hats instead of the STL.I guess I am a stick in the mud and not a marketing guy. I just prefer the classic look. The Cardinals, Dodgers, and Yankees have the three best looking uniforms mostly because they rarely changed until recently.
Having said all of that if Bloom can build a world series caliber team they can wear the shorts that the White Sox wore in the 70’s if that is what it takes.
August 13, 2026 at 11:50 am #316036The navy blue away cap is the one I wear every day down to the cafe to impress my French friends while having my morning coffee.
August 13, 2026 at 3:20 pm #316042I recall as a kid when the Cardinals went to the red caps and really liking them. In fact I thought the 1964 World Series where they had the red caps at home and retained the navy ones while playing in Yankee stadium was perfect.
Then they went to red all the time and I was okay with that, but always liked looking at my old baseball cards where they had the navy.
Then in 1992 I was at a SABR convention in St Louis and there was a panel that included Cardinal GM Dal Maxvill and others. Maxie said that next year they were going to bring back the navy caps for road games. I loved it then, and still do today. I would actually expand the navy cap look and wear it at home now and then. But still wear red most of the time.
On the picture posting, I tried that “IMG” deal but it still did not work – at least I did not see the picture show up. I think the problem may be that I need the photo in a public site like Photobucket or something like that, rather than on my PC or on some place like eBay.

August 13, 2026 at 3:55 pm #316048The navy blue cap with the red and white StL lettering is genuine first rate baseball GQ. I actually like it better than the bright Cardinal red but still feel like the bright red looks better with the clean and crisp snow whites when playing at home. In any case, I almost always wear my navy blue Cardinals edition cap when I decide to top off my coconut with a lid. And, maybe it’s just my imagination, but sometimes I sense that any time I’m dressed out in that stylish and fashionable navy cap, quite a few of the pretty ladies at the grocery store seem to be checking ol’ 1TD out while I’m standing in the checkout line…You can’t go wrong with that stylish navy cap…Haha!
