130 at bats. Not PAs. I’m sure he won’t get to that number. 129 will be good.

Nice way to kick some Cubs butt. The Cubs have the 3rd oldest lineup. The Cards have the 3rd youngest.

Well said C27. The Cubs are a much better team than the Cards this year. Heck the Cubs may make it to the World Series. But over the next couple of years they and the Brewers are going to have to deal with the Cardinals. There are others in our minor league system that are on the way.

I wouldn’t get too excited about Baez.

He may not homer again for another month.

    He’s not our savior.

Well he has the set the bar pretty high that is for sure…lol

No, we all know he is going to K a lot, especially against RH pitching, but today was still a lot of fun. And it couldn’t have happened against a better team.

Just looking ahead to the 2027 campaign and my math is a bit rusty. Anyone know what 3 × 162 =?

Well got to watch tbe game after the fact. Baez did great obviously. I def think he can really do damage to left handers. That stance opens himself up to right handers a bit. But he was great, historic even, today so thats all that matters. Cardinals still need to clean up defense a bit. The pop fly over jj should have been an error, not on jj but on walker but cubs were gifted a hit. Of course i guess mcreevy wasnt charged with earned runs on tbe 3 run homer but should have been i believe but thats just my opinion. But good game overall.

Rats: I think there are more than enough disappointments to go around in the Cardinal Nation these days. We should embrace these bits of joy when they explode into our Saturday afternoon.

    Rah Cardinals!

I’m guessing that once he has a little time to adjust to Big League pitching the youngster should do a lot better…

Baez didn’t look like a chaser today. He looked like a disciplined hitter with a good eye. Obviously, we have to wait and see what ML opponents will devise by way of pitching and defense strategies, and then what he does about it, but so far so good.

He gets to face another LHP’er tomorrow unless the Redbird manager decides that it’s his scheduled day off anyway…

And in regards to defence, we’ll just have to wait and see if he has the ability to man up in a Big League OF…

It gets lost in all of the mayhem coming from Baez’ bat, but it was nice to see Jordan generate some power with his 2nd career tater.

    Josh Baez now has a 900 OPS+ and 918 wRC+. Not sure if that’s any good…

What a debut for that young man. The stuff dreams are made of. Now let’s hope he can eclipse the spectacle with some All Star play or maybe a World Series winning HR one day.
