That Saggese looks like a darn good prospect to me too. He can really hit, by gum. He should be a really fine tootin’ good major leaguer someday.
27 year old, drafted by the Rangers in the 10th round in 2019 out of
West Texas A&M University. Made it to AA with the Rangers and then pitched in the independent leagues the last year or two. Must have been signed as a FA recently.Have we forgotten about the former Maryland Terp who hit over .300 last season at Memphis? With an OBP over .400? Is he still in the organization? He doesn’t seem to get any respect.

The main questions are whether Burleson can hit for power and if he can play an adequate left field.
Forgot about Crawford. Thanks for the reminder, Brian. That probably puts Burleson in Memphis, and means there are only 4 pure outfielders on the OD roster. I wonder if the two older guys, Carp and Crawford, are both going to be kept deep into the season. Especially if Winn performs well.

I’m having trouble breaking the old habit of 2 catchers, 6 infielders, and 5 outfielders. I guess the DH has thrown a monkey wrench into it. As well as the legacy factor.
I still have –
C – Contreras, Herrera
IF – Goldy, Gorman, Winn, Arenado, Donovan, Carpenter
OF – Walker, Nootbaar, Edman, Carlson, and BurlesonBoy, I hope Middleton isn’t out too long. He’s a weapon.
Eventually, the OF will probably be Nootbaar, Edman, and
Walker, with Carlson and Burleson as #4 and #5. In the opening series, I’d expect Donovan, Carlson, and Walker will be the starters. When Edman and Nootbaar come back, Donovan reverts to super sub. Carlson and Burleson as the backups. If Winn doesn’t get his act in gear, Edman comes back at SS, with Noot, Carlson, and Walker in the OF.What about Gallegos, 8ball? He’s seems like he’s back on track to being a good setup man.

With the third time through the lineup syndrome, middle relievers are probably going to be key. That may make
Libby and Pallante pretty important pieces.IMO, this Cardinal team will go as far as Goldy and Arenado can carry it.They need to bring their A games this season.
I’ll go along with the Lynn predictions. He seems to be on a mission to complete his career well where he started.
Well golly gee whiz, Wally, I tend to look at things a tad differently. I think we have a pretty blasted good mixture of veterans and young talented players with Goldy, Arenado, Contreras, Walker, Gorman, Nootbaar, Winn, Donovan, Herrera, etc.
If that there pitching staff does fairly decently, we might have a pretty darned good season. It’s always fun and enjoyable, IMHO, to envision the possibilities. Just another take on the situation.
The #5 OF spot will go to either an offensive or defensive player. If it’s offense, Burleson’s will probably get the nod. If it’s defensive, it will probably be Siani.
All good except Prieto at 3B. I don’t believe he has enough power for that corner infield position. Only 21 home runs in 1,034 minor league plate appearances. Only 17 home runs in 1,178 Cuban plate appearances.
