My guess is King will draw the short straw.

Am I correct that one more position player will be cut – likely Fermin?

Unless someone else is injured the next two days, Fermin will be among the last position players cut – along with the third catcher Pages and fellow infielder Thomas Saggese.

Only one more pitching move is needed. (Plus the five IL moves already known.)

Brian, or whoever, can you help solve a mystery? I can’t seem to find the name Joe Corbett on any Cardinals roster, nor do I see anything in any of their transaction pages with his name. Is he in camp, and what team will he be on? According to the matrix, he is with Memphis.

27 year old, drafted by the Rangers in the 10th round in 2019 out of
West Texas A&M University. Made it to AA with the Rangers and then pitched in the independent leagues the last year or two. Must have been signed as a FA recently.

    How to find a player…

    When you know his team:
Go to the upper left side of the page.
Just under the TCN logo, click on ROSTERS/PLAYERS/MOVES
In this case, then click on Memphis
Scroll down to his name and click on it
    His bio is presented

When you don’t know his team:
Click on the blue magnifying glass at the far upper right
Enter the player’s name in the search box
Click on the entry that is his name
    His bio is presented

Thanks for the info, Brian; but I was asking about the MLB or MiLB site not having any info on Corbett. I did see that he was on the STEP Camo list, but they don’t have him listed under any team online. Just wondered why he doesn’t show up there. I really only knew about him from your site and the matrix. Sorry if I didn’t make that very clear.

No problem. I don’t know, but I imagine MiLB will add him once the season opening rosters are set.

I truly appreciate how MLB runs the MiLB website. Outdated and missing information. Broken links. It’s just charming.

I like that Memphis roster and it will only get better when some of the big league Cardinals come off of the IL.

With a look that is reminiscent of a red-haired Lance Lynn, Baker has always been a dependable workhorse.

I was reminded of Brian’s take when I saw Trent Baker’s name first o the Springfield Roster. From the top prospects article, which was in front of the paywall btw.

Baker didn’t make a lot of noise coming up through A level ball, but his results were good. Like Brian and Blake, I am interested to see how he fares in the upper levels.
