Haha!…It’s the little nuances of our great game that make it so special.

Lance Lynn experiences a rebirth after finally returning home to the Lou, and pitches 190 innings with an ERA of 3.70.

Liberatore relishes his role in the bullpen and emerges as an elite left-handed closer.

Pallante’s new ‘death ball’ makes him virtually unhittable as he challenges Helsley.

Goldscmidt approves a trade to the Giants with the Giants extending him for 4 yrs/$124M, guaranteed.

    My Bold and Spicy predictions:

The Cards will go 80-80. After being eliminated from playoff contention in late September, they will not be required to play 2 make up games against the Cubs and Pirates, b/c the Pirates will win the division, and Cubs will be eliminated well before July.

Also, I’m looking at the stats line for Spring Training and I see Jose Fermin had a high average and he hits RH. It seems he would then compare favorably to…let me randomly pick someone here…Ryan Ludwick?

@Mudville, will Goldschmidt be moved to Starting Pitcher with that 4 year extension from the Giants?

Bake McBride returns to the Cards to coach Alec Burleson in the outfield. Quits after 1 day watching him try to shag flies

BOCfan, that’s totally uncalled for. Obviously, you don’t like Burleson and me, But give it a rest. Sheesh! I still feel you are up to no good on this relatively civil message board.

Donovan, Gorman, Nootbaar and Walker all log 600+ PA’s each, with a 120, 130, 140 and 150 ops+ among them.

Better scratch that one. Too unrealistic.

Winn sticks around and figures it out – 2nd in NL RoY voting
Walker improves a lot at the plate and a little bit in the field
Carlson is pretty average and gets injured – opening a spot for Scott
Goldschmidt trends down and Arenado trends back up
The pitching staff shows it age
The rest of the NL Central continues to improve and the Cards miss the playoffs but just barely

Matt Carpenter is our most consistent hitter this year, in a good way. Lynne is our ace by the All Star break.

I’ll go along with the Lynn predictions. He seems to be on a mission to complete his career well where he started.

Later this season, Saggese and Prieto will be as productive, offensively, as some that are on the opening day roster. And I’m not referring to Burleson.

Is the Cards going 80-80 bold at all? I suppose having two unplayed games would be unusual.

From the not-a-surprise department, John Denton of MLB.com predicts the Cards to win the division. Fer sure!

Masyn Winn leads the majors in triples with 13 and Victor Scott II leads MLB in steals with 74.

The Cards however have the 2nd-worst ERA in the National League (Rockies) and finish 67-95. Ollie Marmol blames the lack of veteran pitching leadership and is promptly given another 2-year contract extension.

Tacking on the BR’s post, Mo then deals Winn to Texas for Max Scherzer, and Scott to Houston for Justin Verlander.

Ollie then makes a statement about “with four future Hall-of-Famers next year, we will win the pennant.”

1TD then points out how this is yet another silly comment from the skipper, and he just needs to not talk. Especially after he followed up 2023’s “this will help us in September” comment with the phrase at the All-Star break in 2024 when the club was 13 1/2 back, “We feel the struggles to date have put the pieces in place to make a second half surge.”

If he would just not talk, that alone would add at least 3 or 4 W’s to the team’s total.

Something huge happens in tomorrow’s game and nobody sees it live because its an Apple TV game.
