Never liked catchers blocking the plate like the old days Hence the rule its dangerous for everybody . Catchers really at risk on that one.If that throw beats the runner to the plate catcher should be able to tag runner out. Don’t like catcher allowed outside of base line on that play ever
Seen this year catcher has been allowed one foot over(his foot) over the line uf the throw takes him there. Got to saw Lucroy crossed the base line because of the throw Marsalis crossed into the field of play getting to the plate instead of taking the outside. Wrong on both parts but all that takes place in 1 second. So I say its on Marsalis for crossing into the field of play and Lucroy is going to the hospital Bet he wishes he had let that one go. As far as Yadi I say this is America and he can say what he wants I’m not offended..Go Cardinals!

6 hits 0 run-loss ? Looks like pitchings getting better Hard luck 7th inning and I thought 7 was a lucky number. A really great hitter would put it where they ain’t. Dexter only tonight, where was Wong at? Gotta figure a way to keep Munoz in the lineup. Go Cardinals! We’ll get ’em after the All Star Break!

Good synopsis Minuteman.I think we got 9 hits last night and were in the game. Keep em coming and good things will happen. A few muffs but thats baseball. Mikolas no walks! Those walks always seem to end up scoring. Just cannot throw a pitch at center of plate with bases loaded ever. Congrats to Goldschmidt! Lookin good for All Star Break too! Oh, oh right hand pitching today?

Great to hear theres prospects for the outfield. Hitting seems paramout lately. Oniel and Bader both have good power. Bader has great defense just needs to spray it more. Remember not long ago we traded a whole bunch of 1 year guys to get pitching. They all ended up well established players on other teams. Most of the pitchers we got struggled and were gone the following year. Doesn’t seem like high dollar free agents and 2nd life pitchers is paying off. Cardinals stregnth has always been the farm system so it seems to me having that AAA guy ready to step in is a huge asset. Thats where Martinez came from. The power is back we just have to utilze it Keeping good pitching will always be a problem due to the exertion it requires. Great to see us whacking the ball again. Go Cardinals!

Wow, great to see Dexter had a great night last night! Wong, Goldschmidt and Edmund too. Martinez jacking one! Just great news. 13 hits almost everyone hitting! Keep it going! Oh yeah Pugsley I didn’t make the pumpkin soup but I think they used pumpkins and I thought French cows made mayonaise? But I was wrong one time before! That was a long time ago though.

Lot of good comments on this thread. Carp can be a very good Left hand batter when hes hitting. We don’t have many. Can’t see playing anybody just cause they make alot unless you’re just giving up on the season. The players hitting against the shift will have to learn skills to counter it or they will just become bench players. Good comment on us trying to get runs in with 2 out situations. So many wasted at bats with lead off doubles. Following batters just wasting their at bats. Just pitiful! Hence the angst! Thats also right about new players being hot until the opposition learns how to pitch them. What happened to Reyes. I had jerk chicken , rice, mac+cheese, ginger pumpkin soup, yum, yum
We are lookin better_ Go Cardinals!

Every time we are up against a RHP I wonder how much better we could be with some more LH hitters? Good to see more hits again…congrats Cards! Need to get more 8th and 9th inning offense now and we’ll be gaming again! Go Cardinals!

Well, glad I didn’t follow last nights game. In baseball as in life every day is a new beginning. Hope springs eternal and I hope we take off after the all star break as I’ve seen em do before. Question is the cup half empty or half full? Talents there but can they improve. One things for sure 1 to 2 runs a game won’t cut it unless we get exceptional pitching. Really surprised at our roster, just a few left handed hitters with 2 being switchers. When we are playing against RHP distinct disadvantage having RHH . Also looked like the batting order for hitting 2 nights ago should have been reversed. The guys at the bottom of the order are the only ones hitting. So Go Cardinals. The only way is UP from here. “You Can Do It!” Billy Jo!

Lots of ticked off Cardinals out there right now. What happened to those days of 3 everyday players batting over 300? Speedy base burner at lead off? Great defense in the middle with everybody who could hit and bunt, including the pitchers? Well this team has some definite power hitters and some guys who wanna be but really should just be trying to get the ball out of the infield. Just doing what you are capable of doing would me them overall much better. Go Cardinals!

If Edmond can go day to day and keep generating hits that would be great. Theres 4 infielders there Carp, Munoz, Edmumds and Gyroko. Carp took off after the all star break last year. Can he do it again. Last year he would follow the ball all the way to the catchers glove. I wonder if hes not seeing the ball this year or just doesn’t try hard enough? Gyroko will take a few continuous games to really get going. I like Munoz who seems to me to be the most consistent this year. Confucious say: If they don’t hit, let them sit!

Dang-it there goes our closer. That really hurts. Seems like this year he was having success with other pitches too like a curve, slider and change up. Saw a couple games when he walked some batters from overthrowing his pitches to get that velocity. Having that kind ofspeed is not good if you can’t control where its gonna go. Seems like a fuller repotoire and having that velocity on occasion would be better. And not burn out your carreer.

The Albertpolooza is killing me. Holding replay on Wongs play so they could get the crowd clapping for Alberts at bat. Playing the soft and fuzzy thread already. Personaly didn’t like Albert leaving for a wheel barrow full of money- a new record at the time-how soon we forget. This ESPN crew haven’t yet heard anything about the current team being so near to first in the division. Please don’t mess with Rosenthal till next year maybe. Go Cardinals!

Hope Ozuna gets it together tonight. The energy at the plate does not seem to be there.Dexters lookin much better now. Goldschmidt needs to straighten out his contact. May be time for some younger talent in the outfield? I really wish Bader would figure out how to hit. Please no more Flatery pinch running. Let him pitch. Jeez!

I’m really liking Munoz lately, If Carp can get back on track we could get pretty good. Nice to see the other guys have not so great middle relief last night. If we start getting some runs and middle relief improves it could take off

Really like the line up tonight, Putting Munoz at third puts a bat that got hits last night in the field. Carps dead bat is gonna end up puttin him on the bench. If they don’t hit, let em sit. They’re pitchin Carp inside corner consistently and if he doesn’t adjust to it they won’t stop. All sports exploit an opponents weakness

Really been waiting for Dexter to get with it. After last year wondered if he would still be with the team this year. His defense is good but how long can they carry a guy that doesn’t produce at the plate. Last night in late innings swinging three times in a row at the same pitch below his knees. Only swing at the strikes
