What if Fitts blocks Leahy from starting? There…it’s settled. Leahy back to the pen. We saw the starting version of Leahy at Springfield. Fitts and Leahy at the front of the pen seems optimal.
We have some shiny new toys still to unwrap as further trades emerge. I am all for bargin hunting at the end for the final pitching pieces.The issue isn’t really spending. The issue is Walker and Gorman have to hit. If those two were to simply perform at or slightly above their previous best levels of production, everything else would fall into place.
They will surely add more low-cost innings along the way. Replacing the actual production we received from Gray combined with that of Mikolas, Fedde, and Pallante won’t require huge spending.
Pallante could improve or simply regain previous form. Quinn Mathews or Zach Thompson could emerge. Two vets like Malhe and Quintana could cover 150 to 200 innings between them.
Add an arm like Fairbanks and some vets who keep Leahy and Fitts in the pen and winning remains viable.Fitts was number 11 prospect in Red Sox system in 2024 and seems quite Andre Pallante-ish. Had 11 starts for RedSox last season.

Bob convinced me not to miss the next Pablo Ozuna train. I think that last season against your peers is truly telling of what will hapoen seven years later…the next time that player plays against anything close to his aged peers.De Santos and and the other SS whose name escapes me… maybe Miguel Hernandez comes to mind are both very interesting bats moving forward.

25 Bryan Torres Age isn’t a factor if you can hit. Caeser Prieto can hit and should be getting some attention too. We are giving votes to a lot of guys who never have hit close to these two career levels.
26 Zach Levenson He goes up to the plate with bad intensions. He swings full force but doesn’t strike out at worrisome rates (85 in 449 abs).We should have a prediction contest in reverse. I predict the 50 best prospect is Chase Heath.
It should be noted I have no list and am simply tapping into my powers of cosmic intuition. He came to mind immediately and I am pretty sure he is the big 50.That brings Molina back in line behind Hansen who is more advanced with greater success.
I don’t think either Hansen or Molina are superior to Rajcic.Do I remember reading Mason Molina had a fasrball that reached 97 and sat 94? His background would be helpful here if anyone saw him pitch.
My problem with Chase Davis (and I really root for and enjoy watching him) is that he was billed as CarGo II. His strike outs cause him to decide that he won’t chase and will only swing at pitches in the zone. This sounds right but he passes on fastballs early…gets deep in counts and still strikes out too much.
CarGo is .330 at the MLB level with 35 bombs.
Until Davis walks into the box looking to punish the pitcher, he will remain Mike Siani II. It’s more than approach. It’s attitude and he displays it in the field; He just needs to adjust when in the count he takes swings because there is no denying that certain counts… especially two-strike counts…are death nails.Saul Figuereo

24 Zach Levenson: Right-handed power could advance quickly if he simply starts next season as the player who finished the year at Springfield.
