KeepComingBackParticipantI
don’t see how the Dodgers are bad for the game for trying to win championships
That’s not why they’re bad for the game. They’re bad for the game for buying championships. Do you enjoy knowing you aren’t even in the conversation for top players anymore? Or when you do finally develope top talent they are gone in free agency? That’s the reality.

KeepComingBackParticipantSince I’m positive the Cardinals aren’t going anywhere, I might hate the Dodgers more than the Cubs right now. What they’re doing is BAD for the game I love.

KeepComingBackParticipantSo now we are the guys teams want to play to get well against.
KeepComingBackParticipantJ I think you are right from beginning to end with your comments. I’m going to enjoy the season as I always do. Only thing I’m sure of is this isn’t a playoff team. So forget about that and follow them from a development point of view.
KeepComingBackParticipantGreat topic. The guys who are obviously the closest are here playing. This team is NOT going to contend for anything. So we should see all of them get plenty of at bats. By the end of the season, we should be able to make a decision going forward to 26-27.
I have the most faith in Walker. He came to the bigs completely unprepared for any phase of the game. But he has the most talent and he proved he can learn with his huge defensive improvements. I think by the end of the year we will see the guy we need sitting in the middle of the oeder.
Gorman maybe but I have less faith that he can be a high enough obp guy to earn one of those places. Same with Herrera. Although I give Herrera a better chance. Burleson may not make it through the year. His swing looks messed up and that’s all he had.
The guy in the system that is a dark horse for the future is Chase Davis. He seems to progress but not fast enough for Shady to jump on his bandwagon. I like him.
We have a deluge of catchers and middle infielders. Our best bet is to trade from that surplus and our expiring fa contracts. I have to go to work so someone else can come up with suggestions on whom that my be? Or do we go strictly with prospects?April 20, 2025 at 8:24 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #22 thread – Sunday, April 20 at New York Mets #279923
KeepComingBackParticipantEdit; And as much as I don’t like the Cardinal manager, I have to acknowledge that at this stage he doesn’t have much to work with. But if he did, he’d find a way to jam it up…Haha!
Oily can’t see past the LR matchups and staggering LR in the lineup. There’s no use trying to understand it.

KeepComingBackParticipantI forgot Saggese. I think he has possibilities. Probably his ceiling is a starter on a poor or average team. But eventually we need guys to fill in who can do something to help win a game here and there when a guy goes down. Right now all we got is one dimensional guys who aren’t doing good at their diminsion.

KeepComingBackParticipantThere’s no reason to be mad when this bunch loses. Bad team bad manager. Im just trying to focus on the positives. Today it’s Lib. Maybe he, Donovan, Noot, Herrera, Scott, maybe Walker will be part of something good. Pallante.

KeepComingBackParticipantConcur. But not nearly as hideous as Gormans ab.

KeepComingBackParticipantLib finally emerging and becoming a reliable starter would be a huge benefit for any near term success.
KeepComingBackParticipantThere’s no defense for this particular front office. They’re dead last and it isn’t close. Bill got rich but his refusal to recognize the decline of this organization is what has put the team where they are. And it’s more than just Mo’s failures. They better get used to a vacant stadium, because they’ve alienated a huge percentage of the fan base. And their failures and frivolous handing out of ntc’s have prevented them from starting a proper re-build. I will give them credit for having a gaggle of players that could possibly be above average in the near future. But there’s just as many who don’t belong on a major league roster or have no chance to be here when we finally get this thing turned over. The final act of malfeasance would be getting no assetts in return for their fa and repetitive roster spots with any value. I also give them credit for investing in player development and bringing in some fresh faces. But that should never have had to happen. They failed to maintain their assets.

KeepComingBackParticipantWe have 2 guys on this roster who can’t do anything but hit and they can’t hit. That’s not good.

Pond scum Dom. I tell ya they are pond scum. They’re good again so I can hate them better. I liked the old stadium a lot better.April 14, 2025 at 9:16 am in reply to: What Went Right/Wrong & Where Does that Leave the Cardinals #279362
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m encoraged so far. I’ve made an effort to see most of it. We need 2 everyday players and 2 starting pitchers to emerge as better than average players. It’s a long race. PS There’s nobody I’m dying to have brought up at the present time.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’m glad we have BD instead of LTE.
