I am convinced if Dal Maxvill was playing for St. Louis now even he would be up there trying to slug it out there. It makes me almost want to vomit when I see our hitters trying to slug it out there when all they need to do is make contact.

Slug, slug, and more slug. They are missing a great game.

    I didn’t see the play.

Mikolas in trouble. We’re on the verge of getting swept.

Rat, gotta blame the strategy fail on the manager. Most players don’t bunt well and don’t wanna do it. Afraid to look bad I guess.

Maxville…I knew him. He was a regular at the joint I worked at. He struck me as a real jerk. Quite brusk with us working stiffs.

Well, this will be 5 losses in the last 6 games.

If they can struggle along and stay around ,500 there is always a chance to build from there but the early returns are 0-3 in extra innings, bad pitching, questionable base running, questionable coaching…. Did I miss anything?

The new pitching coach says there is a time to slug and a time to hit.

So far all I have seen from the team is slug, slug, slug.

6-1 Red Sox in the 3rd.

At least this one won’t be an extra innings loss.

Mikolas looks like Waino in his last year. Unless we can put up 6 or 7 runs in his starts, he’s going to go about 4-15.

Fedde and Mikolas starts were over early. Pallante kept us in it during his start, vs the same lineup.

The starting pitching is still in spring mode. A couple of relievers are down in Roger Dean as well. Fernandez has been downright brutal and has been since the 2nd half of last season.

They should DFA Mikolas tonight and get McGreevy up

IMO one of the ways I will truly believe the Cardinals are serious about seeing how there young players do is when Mikolas is no longer on the roster and McGreevy is up and starting! We have watched Mikolas for years! He is not good and has no place in a rebuild!

    16-2 Boston
    21 hits
    9 or 10 doubles
    Graffeco very clearly isn’t ready

….all of this in 6 innings.

Well – the good news is even if they score 100 runs it’ll only count as 1 loss.

Hopefully this is just ‘one of those games’ in ‘one of those series’

As I always like to say – we won’t know what we’ve got until the end of May.

Neither is the guy he followed. Wait on second, he was never that good but the Cardinals overpaid him based on one lucky year.

Look on the bright side. We have plenty of batting practice pitchers, lol.

Pitching in the first and third games was brutal. Hoping this is an abberation, but my gut is telling me no.

I’m glad the ESPN game was a Mikolas start so I couldn’t subject myself to watching it. Too bad Mikolas will trot out there for his turn while McGreevy is in the minors.

If momentum is applicable and there’s any carryover from today, this team may not win another game for a month. The term carnage comes to mind.

It’s my belief that it’s entirely possible to scrap a season in April. I’d say that today’s two games demonstrated that there’s a decent chance of that happening.
