If Angels want him, I can’t imagine him not approving a trade to them. It’s pretty clear none of the contenders want him. Cardinals don’t want him. Might ad well play at home.
I try to keep an open mind, but there’s just not a trade that includes Winn that makes any sense. He’s already gold glove. His hitting will improve. There’s just other ways to gain offense besides trading your best defensive player at the most important position. Young and cost controlled.
Btv has that trade about even ChiTown. Morales and Ryan. Not sure where that rumor came from, but theres a lot of folks playing gm
Edman was coming off a 91 OPS+ season and was not going to be ready to play opening day. Donovan coming off 119+ and should be ready to play.
Not sure what that really means. The Dodgers gave a guy 500 mil who wasn’t going to be able to pitch for an entire season. This is the Dodgers we are talking about. I think Tommy profiled as a better player than Donovan. He had 15 war after 4 seasons. Donavan is 11. Clearly Donovan is a better player today than Tommy if that’s the point. Tommy was wayyyyy over paid by the Dodgers. No one else would have spent close to that. I would be shocked if Donovan ever sees that kind of money.
I think Tommy had higher value at the time-plus that was the Dodgers. Doubtful anyone else would have offered that. He had just been an integral part to a world championship. He got paid. I think Im with Bling on this. Whatever we get needs to be right handed.

Me too. We are a couple moves away from completing the much overdue roster shuffle. And we have done it in the right way-looking to the future. I will watch with much more intrest in 26. Yes there are a ton of unanswered questions. But I at least believe Bloom has a plan to pivot from whatever problems need to be rectified. And all this heavy lifting of restructuring the roster won’t be necessary going into 27′. I would expect them to be ready to fix the holes with a combination of ml ready talent from their system, trades, and fa. I think moderate spending for the 27 season will be an option as long as the cba is settled.
Many of these guys they’d want to have playing at Triple-A. So it would still hurt.

I don’t think Bloom will let Walker flounder indefinitely in 2026. But I expect him to get a lengthy runway. Maybe July. Continued failure probably means the end?

really, really hope the Cardinals do not have Walker pencilled in on the 2026 ML roster. He needs to go ahead and rent an apartment in Memphis.
You may be disappointed. There’s been multiple quotes by Bloom saying that he believes Walker will have success at the major league level and that going to aaa doesn’t help that happen.
CFICT- It almost seems like a dream when Hence was so highly ranked. Very little talk anymore. And people seem to have conceded he will be a reliever. Not me. His arm hasn’t fallen off yet. He has electric stuff. Keep stretching him out under the new development team.
