Mo always tries to look to the future. So anticipate getting a player or two that will help this season and also in 2025.

Well done, as usual.I wonder also how many “innings eaten” is affected by the 3rd time through the lineup principle, now rampant throughout baseball.
It would be nice to see the MOTO produce as predicted before the season started – Goldy, Arenado, Contreras, Gorman, etc.
Winn and Burleson at the top of the lineup, followed by Contreras, Goldy,
Arenado, Gorman, Walker, Donovan, and Edman hopefully will be the lineup going into the playoffs. With Goldy and Arenado playing up to their contracts. That could be fearsome.Probably have to pencil in Walker for the OF next season. That puts the OF potential at Walker, Donovan, Edman, Siani, Nootbaar, Carlson, Burleson, Scott, and Koperniak.
If they move Burleson to 1B, as I suspect they will, it leaves only 2B open. As Gscottar said, that leaves 2B as an open competition between Edman, Gorman, and Donovan.
Arenado is still in what should be his latter prime years. He just turned 33 in April. His steep decline is a complete surprise. He must have some nagging injuries.
Gorman just swings for the fences, even with a full count. He needs better coaching.
Walker was pushed too fast. Unable to readjust to the MLB pitchers’ adjustments. I hope it doesn’t have a lasting effect.
Going into this season, many of us felt that we had some of the best middle of the order bats in recent memory with Arenado, Goldschmidt, Contreras, Walker, and Gorman. I truly don’t have any idea why that has not played out well.
Future stars and core players are
Winn, Walker, Burleson, Herrera, Donovan, Nootbaar, and Gorman. Don’t trade any of them.Very nice job by Lynn. Hope he can keep it up!

Jordan Walker is a big bat. Whether he plays in the OF or at 1B, he’s going to be a fixture in the lineup for a number of
years.My guess is that Walker will be in the All Star running when he’s 25.
And overall he’s a much better athlete than Burleson.Winn, Walker, Gorman, Herrera, Donovan, Carlson, Siani, Nootbaar, Scott, Baker, Saggese, etc. are all fine young players. When they hit their stride this is going to be a fun team to watch.
Stated truisms aren’t necessarily truisms. Only time will tell. Look at Adolis Garcia. He matured late. You simply can’t predict the future.
Just because they aren’t doing as well as we would like right now, that doesn’t really say anything about how well they will do going forward.Walker – 21

You don’t need to have a slew of prospects come to St. Louis every year. But the talented, fairly high ceiling guys need to develop into solid regulars. Guys like Winn, Walker, Gorman, Herrera, Carlson, Baker, Scott, Donovan, Burleson, Saggese, etc. That very well could make a pretty solid position ball club going forward.
