I have been very critical of both Mo and Ollie but you have to be fair.

Mo’s offseason improvement to the pitching staff has saved us so far this season but with the age of our starters we have to be concerned with injuries. A little worried about Grey. Gibson was a steal, Kitteredge good also. Think we gave up a pretty good draft choice for Grey. Helpful this year but very little help long term.

Think he could have done a llittle better than Lynn, Carp and Crawford.

As for Ollie he seems to have have more of a set lineup which I think the players like better than all of the switching. As a fan I will also assert my own opinion.

I would have Donovan batting second and Burleson 5th. And I would never have Carp and particularly Crawford hitting ahead of Gorman.

I am giving credit where it is due. It is never good to be all bad or even all good.

    Sooner, 1) Winn 2) Donovan 3) Burleson 4) Contreras 5)? 6)?. Either 5) Goldy 6) Arenado or vice versa.

Good post Sooner. I don’t know if Ollie is that much different or not but it sure makes life easier for a manager when you have solid pitching. We had solid pitching in 2022 (at least the second half), horrible pitching in 2023, and then solid pitching again in 2024. The results speak for themselves.

Yeah, without researching and putting anything official together it’s seems like there are quite a few examples of good teams that had great pitching but average hitting, and bad or mediocre teams that could tear the cover off the ball but had weak pitching.

I don’t see Winn Burleson Contreras slumping badly and believe that is the first 3 in the lineup. Til the cows come home.

KCB, Winn, Burly, Contreras are a fine threesome at the top of the order, right now. You’re right, might as well stay with them, for now. At DH, Burly won’t come out for a defensive replacement. It’s nice to keep his bat available late in a game in case a team comes back.

It would be nice to see the MOTO produce as predicted before the season started – Goldy, Arenado, Contreras, Gorman, etc.

BC -I think if that happens we are only a pitcher away from serious relevency. And i will lose sleep staying up to watch the end of every game. My work alarm is 430
