Memo to Dan and Rick – it doesn’t matter squat how hard Hicks is throwing when He Isn’t Throwing Strikes!!!
More runs, more runs!
Not happy to see Yadi clearly hurting from that foul off his left foot
Well, Brian’s article on Wainwright mentioned him starting in the playoffs as a possibility and tonight’s broadcast just referenced Mo as saying it was a possibility.
Nice 9 pitch 2nd for Flaherty
wagee,
Yesterday was Memphis’ final home game of the regular season.Waino is likely to start on Saturday, Sept 1st at Nashville
IF he makes another start after that, it would be during the play-offs, on the road
Tomorrow’s regular season finale still has meaning for the DSL Cardinals Blue since they are competing with the DSL Rays1 for the final first-round bye slot – DSL Colorado has already clinched one of the two slots.
All three teams won today. Currently, the C-Blue have the second best record. The only way they don’t get the bye is if they lose and the DSL Rays1 win tomorrow.
Here’s hoping for another win.
Re Ponce going down – St Louis has two days off in the upcoming week – Thursday and Monday. They can go with four starters until late next week which is…Sept 1st.
And as Brian said in his Take on the Trade, Memphis badly needs a starter to anchor that team for now. Optioning him to Memphis puts him in line to start game three of the four-game series against second-place Nashville and push Lyons back to game four, if needed.
THAT’S A WINNER!!
I’m on the “on purpose” side. Royals hit 4 Cardinals in one game. Ump did nothing. You as the Cardinals players can’t let that stand without a response.
Booyah,
Garcia was warming up Poncedeleon between innings because Pena had been on base and was getting his gear on.
BADER!!!!!!
Anyone else thankful Sparkman didn’t get the start for the Royals?
Muñoz injured himself batting. He’s out and Adolis Garcia takes over the at bat
Welp, Gomber made it through 5. That could be it for him.
Very sorry, Bw. ((Hugs))
To the extent that he needs to work on his timing, yes. Otherwise I wouldn’t have posted it.
Wong was unable to hit low A pitching in his rehab game at Peoria last night.
There is/was no bigger Pham rooter on the planet than me. That being said, let’s look at the data:
Age – 30 (will be 31 before next season starts)
Health – significant injury history including a non-curable degenerative eye condition
Production – one quality MLB season (2017)That’s a player worth throwing a hissy over when he’s traded?
As far as the value received for him, the trade was clearly a long-term one for St Louis. I remember the J.D. Drew trade quite well (still have never seen a sweeter swing that WussCake’s). We got MLB-ready pieces Jason Marquis and Ray King plus a Double-A prospect named Wainwright. Remember hearing that the minor league pitcher was the gem of the trade. That turned out to be correct.
The trade only helps St Louis now in that it will give management more opportunity to assess what they have in Bader and O’Neill going into the off season. We’ll have to see how it looks after long-term plays out.
Now, if only Drew had Pham’s passion for the game… sigh
Quite true, Bw. Pham is still here if he was still producing (but that’s for a different thread)
mike,
If some think Carlos is colorful, I can’t even imagine their reaction to Andújar. He would make Martínez look boring.
Welcome to the board, Bsmith80.
Please take the time to read the Board rules link. Disguised profanity remains profanity and is a violation.
I’m sure you can express your point of view without it.
Thanks.
Neither do you, cranny. And by that I’m talking about last word/post on a subject.
I’d appreciate posters sticking to relevant board subjects and not other posters.
Thanks
Neither one of you named a manager so let’s just move on.
This team is extremely frustrating.
It’s the latter, 25, particularly for last night’s games. Multiple players with two-HR efforts and lots of RBI’s. Didn’t want to short-change anyone.
