Correct. So actually, with those six and Arenado, there’s an excess at 3B, also, within the organization. Maybe something for Mo to work with as trading chips at the deadline or in the off season. Walker could be included in that 3B bunch, too. Though, they likely will keep him in the outfield.

You twisted my suggestion that Arenado go down to AA to readjust his hitting approach just to try to belittle me again. You are are deal.
Burly batting #2 against the lefty starter tonight. I’m beginning the think Oli likes Burleson’s hitting ability even more than me. lol I’d still like to see more power from Burly. I think the potential is there. I believe Edmonds said in a recent telecast, something to the effect, that Burly could be a 30 home run guy playing as a regular.
This ain’t what the Cardinals want and need out of their high-priced “ace”. If Edman comes back before the trade deadline, the logical move is to trade Arenado for the best starting pitcher they can get. The Cardinals will need to eat a lot of Arenado’s huge salary. Move Gorman to 3B and insert Edman at 2B. The first sentence accentuates one of the reasons for these moves. In addition to the 5th starter quandary. Especially, if Contreras comes back healthy.

It’s getting more and more obvious, that the Cards need to try to trade either Goldschmidt or Arenado for a #5 starter. Either position could be filled just as good from within as what the Cards are getting from these two over-priced players. Sorry, I couldn’t find trade ideas thread,
1tdc, I’m starting to see a Goldy trade for at least a #3 pitcher (if possible) and Burly installed at 1B. Whatcha think?
RBK, that established MLB players can go down to lower levels in order to try to get back to an MLB level of performance. Slow down and try to enjoy what Burly is doing. lol
I didn’t suggest Arenado be assigned to AA. I thought it would be prudent. If mutually agreed upon. My critics and I have a tendency to miscommunicate. lol Another Burly bomb. Enjoy RBK and BOC fan. lol

Drewman, enough of the “ok” crap. Provide us with some substantial discussion regarding Cardinals baseball. “Earn your stripes” here. I know you got it in you. lol
blingboy, Burly’s future offensive production will be fine as a DH. He’s going to be an average corner outfielder, overall, with an above average arm. He’d be an above average defensive 1B. I believe the Cardinals would have to be blown away by a trade that includes Burleson. That’s how much the Cardinals like me as a young lefty hitter. IMO
RBK, that’s fair. I see Burleson as a solid potential .280 BA, 20 HR type for many years to come. Is that a sufficient projection on my part. He needs to pick it up on the RBIs. I believe he will. And yes, I’d be thrilled if Saggese could match that in the future. And I feel he can. Is that a satisfactory projection for you on my part?
RBK, you need to chill and just try to observe Burleson’s steady progress. It’s happening. Whether you see it or not. I know that will be difficult for you to do. But please try. Maybe you won’t be so uptight about him and me for my support of him.
Donovan, Burleson, Goldschmidt, Gorman, and Arenado should be a formidable top five in the lineup against RHP. IF the are all firing on all cylinders. And that’s a big IF.
RBK, “apparent future success”. Go back and read the amended version. Maybe not to you. But to me and many others. Let’s see how it plays out in the next few seasons.
KCB. Burleson was phenomenal, indeed, in his last AAA season. However, Saggese was amazing as a 21 year old AA Texas League MVP last season. And Prieto has been an outstanding minor leagues hitter, too. I sure hope they can get close to Burleson’s apparent future success in the MLB.
