Anyone see Carpenter get picked off 1B in the 3rd inning? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse baserunner that Matt.
June 6, 2024 at 8:08 pm #255293I like Doyle. Really good CF defense, league average bat, and good base running.
June 6, 2024 at 8:09 pm #255294SBs are mostly on the pitcher, but Herrera does not make good throws at all.

June 6, 2024 at 8:19 pm #255296I feel like Gray is battling a nagging injury. He has just looked off the last month and doesn’t have the same sharp command he did the first month or last year
June 6, 2024 at 8:20 pm #255297I honestly don’t know if we will see Edman this year either. It sounds like he keeps having set back after set back. I hope he has gotten a 2nd opinion and that if the 1st surgery missed something, a 2nd opinion could find it
June 6, 2024 at 8:23 pm #255298Robberse has come on in relief twice this year and it hasn’t gone well. 5 runs in one inning so far after getting just one out. Maybe he needs longer to warm up.
June 6, 2024 at 8:29 pm #255299I’m surprised they have pitched Robberse in relief, although I guess today was Matz rehab start. Long term I don’t see Robberse being good in RP if he has to fall back due it. He just doesn’t have a good enough fastball
June 6, 2024 at 8:34 pm #255301This game’s still well within reach, but I had a bad feeling about it when I saw that COL had lost 5 in a row. They have to win some time.

jj-cf-stlParticipantA crooked number inning would go well about now.

jj-cf-stlParticipantRunning the bases hard
June 6, 2024 at 8:58 pm #255304At least we cut the deficit to 1 that inning
June 6, 2024 at 9:01 pm #255305If the BP can keep COL at 3 runs, I’m guesssing the Cardinals will place this game in W column.
June 6, 2024 at 9:05 pm #255306Charlie continues to add to his hit total.
June 6, 2024 at 9:10 pm #255307My goodness…Another biscuit for breakfast and it’s 4-3…
June 6, 2024 at 9:20 pm #255308Our bullpen is keeping us in this once again.
June 6, 2024 at 9:28 pm #255309Dylan gets 5 changeups. 3 for balls and 2 that he swung at and missed.
June 6, 2024 at 9:29 pm #255310You know it’s a thin bench when you have to PH with 2 guys that are batting .136 and .128.
June 6, 2024 at 9:32 pm #255311Indeed. With Walker working on his swing at AAA and Noot, Edman, and Contreras working on getting healthy, we are left with nothing. Carlson seems like a shell of his former self. Fermin has never hit in the big leagues. And those are our 2 best pinch hitters . . .
June 6, 2024 at 9:39 pm #255312Winn gets called out on a clear ball.
June 6, 2024 at 9:49 pm #255313BP contributes 4.1 scoreless IP’ed but the bats can’t get it done. It’s a bit repetitive.

jj-cf-stlParticipantWas good to see Siani have a moment.
June 6, 2024 at 9:54 pm #255315We outhit them, but couldn’t string them together enough. With all the walks we had, we should have found more than 2 runs. There’s not a good answer for the offense other than hope it gets better while we wait a month for reinforcements.
June 7, 2024 at 6:15 am #255324Waiting for reinforcements can only be a successful strategy if there are no future injuries to anyone. We have zero depth which is why there is not a good answer for the offense. More than likely, we will spend the whole rest of the season waiting for reinforcements.
June 7, 2024 at 7:44 am #255332I agree Bling. But right now we have no depth to trade from other than maybe some promising minor league pitchers or maybe a bullpen piece. That’s not going to get us a lot and could even set us back.
One thing the team could do is swap Baker for Fermin and DH Baker almost every day. I’m not saying he will be better than Carpenter. But it gives him a chance to see what he can do at the major league level playing every day. And it may power in a few more runs. On the downside, our bench becomes even less versatile – which is hard to do.
