Circumstances are not different other than that this FO can’t put a post season team on the field and that they are to scared to go the EXTRA mile to get a guy that will put them over the top!
Being ok with Fowler in RF is MO doubling down on his stupid signing of him and in the process missing one of the best young FA we have seen in awhile…typical cards garbage!
Did they do what it took to sign Price? nope they got cold feet and didn’t go any higher…that is a fact…
the FO is scared to go make the huge splash…sure fixing the pen will help a little but right now still a 3rd place team in division…and that is without Mil and Cubs doing ANYTHING yet.

I am in the rather sign Harper camp as we not giving up young talent and not taking back most likely is a rental…not a huge fan of trading for rentals at all especially when they are going to be costly to acquire.
I would find it very high odds that the Cards do NOTHING at all impactful and the FO will give some line of crap saying well we tried lets hope for the best…

If that is true that they said they could not sign Donaldson because he would make more than Molina then the front office/ownership is dumber than i thought they were and I already don’t think they can put a team on the field that can win the division.

I don’t see the Cards getting Goldy either really…think they might actually be all in on Harper, but when they finish 2nd (and we know it won’t be first) they will come up with excuses that they tried, blah blah blah, sign some garbage and miss playoffs for 4th straight year…
It doesn’t bother me one bit as he seemed to be always injured but sure seemed like a lot of people thought sure fire guy cards would sign.
