I hear you Willie and understand your view. I think if the purpose is to stop the other team from scoring then you should be able to put you defense where you think it will be more effective. It will be the goal of the offense to counter attack that. I want my offense to make the shift less effective.
Again minority opinion here. As a strategy I should be able to place my players wherever I think best. You don’t like it hit where they ain’t and I will stop.

Oh well more of the same coming up. Central Champs forever. No more.
I like it. More interesting. Shorter games when possible.
I will probably be the minority opinion. I think there is not enough talent especially pitching for expansion. MLB doesn’t need more teams.
Awesome birthday news for Naile. He is turning 30 today.
That’s great bccran. But that’s a big statement without knowing what other organizations have done for their cities. “than almost any other organization” how do know you this?
“Left-wing hellhole cities” how nice of you.
as boomers die so will baseball. It will be like hockey with a smaller but dedicated fan base
haha I could an hour late and the game will probably be still in the 4th inning.
I like they are trying to speed up the game. Some pitchers and some hitters are unwatchable
Prospects become quality when they have a history of sustained success at the MLB level regardless of where they were drafted. Having first rounders is great but let’s see them become the real deal. Wacha and Miller were first rounders also.
No need to be snarky about a person doing her job. You don’t agree that’s fine. It is her opinion, what is yours?
quality>quantity
Christmas Story movie moment….A++++++++++
Hudson was 16-7. With 1.408 whip and lead the league with 86 walks. That whip is bad.
You would hope all that knowledge would have translate into better results.
It is basically the same team. Why would their dismal post season performance change in 2023?
Did you think Forsch post was well thought out?
They can’t hit and the can’t pitch in the post season. They are doomed. Allowing an avg of 4 runs is not going to get done.
See bccran you don’t want to have discussions you want us to agree with you. I agree with Forsch assessment. The pitching has a lot of questions.
It is quite the opposite bikemike that’s exactly what teams are doing. They are going all in during the season they think they have the best shot at it. The outrageous amount of money being spent show just that. The teams that have little to no shot won’t spend….because they don’t have a chance. Teams have done that once they win some like KC and the Cubs tear down after such win. Right the Cardinals model have been less than stellar in the post season. Maybe that will change in 2023 but I doubt it. Quantity of pitching rarely translates into quality pitching.
I don’t know why you care that some of us are “crying” for an ace. You are happy and agree with what the front office and ownership is doing. You should be happy and not pay attention to us crybabies. The team is where you think it should be. Be happy.
Not trying to be cute at all. You just need to win your argument so I don’t have anything else to say.
