June 30, 2025 at 7:40 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #86 thread – Monday, June 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #286137Scott should be the center fielder almost every day. Great play to run that down.

June 30, 2025 at 7:30 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #86 thread – Monday, June 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #286128Fedde has only thrown 37 pitches, so far. It seemed like he should have more than that with all the base runners. 1-0 Pirates after 3.

June 30, 2025 at 6:02 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #84 thread – Saturday, June 28 at Cleveland Guardians #286111jj, if they are not going to buy out a couple of FA years, they may as well maximize his trade value. He will be 29 in January and only have 2 more seasons after this one until free agency.
Mike, that’s where I’m leaning, at this time. If we could package him in a trade package to get a quality need (TOR SP, OF upgrade), I’m all for trading him before his value drops.
June 30, 2025 at 11:15 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #86 thread – Monday, June 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #286058KCB, I haven’t forgot Liberatore. I was actually considering him to be established in the rotation. I don’t think he will be a TOR starter but a pretty good #2 is possible.
June 29, 2025 at 7:04 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #86 thread – Monday, June 30 at Pittsburgh Pirates #286027Considering Winn, Scott, Walker, Herrera, Gorman and Saggese are all 25 or younger, there is a lot of potential for growth in their games. They also have Wetherholt, Mathews, Hence and some others getting close. It is all a matter of which way the front office sees the farm system going. That dictates whether they acquire the future through a trade or believe they already have the pieces and need them to develope.
As of right now, the rotation for 2026 looks like Gray, Liberatore, Pallante, McGreevy and Matthews with very little depth behind them. Graceffo, Granillo, and Svanson look like they could fill in the bullpen.
I would love to acquire a top notch pitcher and put Pallante in the bullpen. I am concerned what it would cost to make that trade.

June 19, 2025 at 2:19 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #74 thread – Thu, 6/19 at White Sox – DH G1 #285106The official scooter gives Winn an error on that throw. It should have been an E3. Contreras should have waited to see where the throw was going before stretching to get it. Contreras had it in his glove but let it dribble out. That Contreras regularly stretches before seeing where the throw is going is about the biggest issue I have seen with him at first base this year.
The White Sox tie the game at 1.
June 18, 2025 at 8:23 am in reply to: St. Louis 2025 Game #73 thread – Tuesday, June 17 at Chicago White Sox #285024Steve, just for reference, the team batting average without Donovan, Burleson and Herrera is .238. The league average batting average is .245.
If Winn and Herrera plus more are needed for a top of the rotation starter then we don’t need to trade for one. I would have to have 4 years of control of a TOR starter to trade Winn alone. I’m not sure I would even do that.
