7:40 p.m.
RHP Erick Fedde (3-9, 4.83) vs. RHP Bradley Blalock (0-2, 9.96)
FanDuel // KMOXJuly 22, 2025 at 1:40 pm #287913Maybe Fedde will pitch well and then get traded…
July 22, 2025 at 3:48 pm #2879224-9 would be easier to sell than 3-10.
July 22, 2025 at 4:35 pm #287925Yep, this is the audition to see if we can get something for Fedde, or if our only option is to DFA. He did pitch a real good game out here last year late in the season. I went to the game that night and he was sharp.
I doubt he can repeat that, but we can hope.
July 22, 2025 at 6:40 pm #287929Well people, after a lot of hot, dry weather out here we have a nice thunderstorm going on. It is an hour before game time and at least in the southeastern ‘burbs it’s coming down pretty good. We are happy to see it as the garden and lawn will love it.
I don’t see an issue getting the game in though as it looks like this will clear out in an hour or so. And maybe it’s not coming down as much downtown.
July 22, 2025 at 7:19 pm #287930Thanks for your Bird’s eye view greater Denver area meteorological report, BicycleMike. But to get the complete weather lowdown, we anxiously await Rat’s report……..Rat? You know, Rat has been strangely silent on today’s game thread, which is not like him. Let’s hope he’s not sitting in the pokey on an aggravated charge of 1st degree gravel thievery. If so, I’m sure Brian will get the wheels in motion behind the scenes to spring him.
July 22, 2025 at 7:36 pm #287933Yeah Pugs, I was a little hesitant to say anything about the weather, knowing I would be stealing Rats thunder (so to speak). But his usual timely report was not posted so I stepped in. Hopefully the authorities have not caught up to him and he is serving time for petty theft. Those jail monitors won’t be bringing him a late night snack of three corn dogs, a basket of fries, Mountain Dew slushy, and triple chocolate shake like he is used to enjoying. He will be lucky to get a 1 ounce bag of Cheetos and a paper cup of water.
July 22, 2025 at 7:37 pm #287934All clear in St. Louis.
There’s a lot of green stuff just south of metro Denver. We will be lucky there is not a delay at some point in this one.
July 22, 2025 at 7:41 pm #287935There we have it……..thanks for the weather scoop, Rat! Rat would have been a grand replacement for Willard Scott. It’s not too late, Rat.
July 22, 2025 at 7:46 pm #287938Here is to hoping Fedde can pitch a good game so maybe some dumb GM will think they see something in him and trade a decent prospect for him.
July 22, 2025 at 7:50 pm #287940And Fedde quickly gives up the lead. He must hate being in the lead as easily as he consistently gives it up.
July 22, 2025 at 7:54 pm #287941My goodness…That 1-0 pitch that Fedde laid in there to Moniak may have been the worst pitch I’ve seen leave the hand of a Cardinal pitcher this season. There’s a good chance my baby granddaughter would have annihilated that offering. This guy’s worse than bad.
July 22, 2025 at 7:58 pm #287944I thought Fedde was supposed to be pretty good when we got him last year.
What happened???
And why do bad things just seem to happen to our young guys and the players we trade for?????
July 22, 2025 at 8:00 pm #287945Arenado hits than runs into an out. Pathetic base running.
July 22, 2025 at 8:12 pm #287946Rats I will say I Fedde pooled the wool over my eyes. When the team traded for him I thought he would be a good #3 for the 1.5 years he was with the team. Boy was I wrong. He pitched well enough to get traded and then the bottom fell out.
July 22, 2025 at 8:12 pm #2879473-0 Colorado after two innings.
This might be a blowout.
July 22, 2025 at 8:14 pm #287948Fedde gives up 2 more runs but the Rockies got lucky on the hit by Doyle. If Arenado is able to barehand that ball, they could have got out of the inning with no runs.
July 22, 2025 at 8:16 pm #287949Nice to see McGreevy is still with the team. They would have sent him back down earlier today if they were shipping him out again.
Always interesting to hear a McGreevy interview. Sounds like an outstanding young man who is a really hard worker with a great mentality. I like that he still has fun with the game too.
July 22, 2025 at 8:20 pm #287950Fedde looked to be throwing pretty well in the second. His game is built on making guys guess wrong on the pitch and chasing. He seems to be hitting the edges of the zone.

jj-cf-stlParticipant“Flash” in the pan that fizzled out.
July 22, 2025 at 8:24 pm #287952Well safe to say when the Brewers game comes on I will tune in to that instead to watch Misiorowski and the Brewers try to go for 12 straight against one of the best SP Gilbert and the Marienrs.
July 22, 2025 at 8:25 pm #287954McMahon didn’t miss that mistake pitch.
July 22, 2025 at 8:25 pm #2879556-0 Rockies in the 3rd.
Albert?
I’ll be tuning in to the Twins and Doyers from Doyer Stadium here in about 45 minutes. The Redbirds are getting hard to watch nowadays.
July 22, 2025 at 8:35 pm #287958At least we have 2 runs back and now runners on first and third.
The bad part is it’s Pages up with 2 outs.
July 22, 2025 at 8:42 pm #287959Fedde makes a team playing under .250 ball look good. I doubt anyone will take a flyer on him, but maybe we can get him off the roster to someone who will take him for “cash considerations” in the next week or so – or maybe the old “player to be named later”.
But really, a team would have to see something they can work with where they feel a tweak here and there and he can be serviceable.
