His speed is the difference and while I might start him at 3rd over Carpenter they are not going to do that against a RH pitcher.
Carpenter just took a 92 MPN FB on the first pitch…it was the best pitch that saw and he struck out.
He is playing who he thinks gives the Cardinals the best chance to win. Pretty simple to understand.
I am fine with how Mike Shildt manages the team…it is up to the players to perform at a higher level than they have been.
He was called up to be a reserve outfielder and that is how they are using him. How is that hard to understand?
While not getting another starting pitcher would have eventually cost us that is not why we haven’t been winning. When you cannot hit and score any runs you are going to lose. We have scored 7 runs in the last 5 games.
Bumgardner is only 30 not 37/38 like Wainwright. I am of the opinion that the Cardinals need an established LH starting pitcher. If not him then some other LH starting pitcher.
Do we think the Cardinals target Madison Bumgardner in 2020 and what is the likelihood he wants to sign with us?
Big inning for Memphis…Arozarena and Bader walk & Carpenter singles two in and then Ozuna hits 3 run HR. He has 5 RBI tonight.
Nice inning by Tyler Webb. I watched most of his games at South Carolina…he pitched on the 2010 & 2011 National Championship Teams.
