I also have been following baseball(Cardinals) for a long time(65yrs.) and I clearly know what I am talking about. Edman and Thomas both played well today and hopefully will in the future. Mike Shildt knows what he is doing too.
Goldschmidt was an excellent acquisition. Now they have to decide if they want to re-sign Ozuna…at this point I am for it. Carlson has to be the reason why they don’t.

The Cardinals have an all RH hitting line-up today against Brault.
Really pulling for Bader to hit consistently and be the full-time centerfielder for St. Louis.

Again, the Cardinals are playing Edman to get his speed and his ability to hit left-handed in the line-up and I agree with that.

Pittsburgh is starting a LH pitcher(Brault) tomorrow so you may get your wish.
His speed is the difference and while I might start him at 3rd over Carpenter they are not going to do that against a RH pitcher.
That is why Tommy Edman plays because he makes things happen. Did it last night and again tonight.
Carpenter just took a 92 MPN FB on the first pitch…it was the best pitch that saw and he struck out.
He played last night because he can be a LH hitter same as tonight.
He is playing who he thinks gives the Cardinals the best chance to win. Pretty simple to understand.
