I remember getting my first glove wet as it was too small to begin with. When it dried it was hard as a rock and I couldn’t get my fingers in
That jogged a memory…My G father had a a glove so old it had 5 fingers, stiff and rock hard like yours. We surprised him by “fixing” it by threading shoe laces thru the eyes on the fingertips and slathered brown shoe polish over all.
It was a frightful mess but he wore it every time we went to Forest Park ’till he died.
Glad to be back onboard tonight after an absolutely grueling day down at the salt mines.
