George SislerSeptember 14, 2022 at 9:47 pm #200648Pujols with an even 2200 RBI’s. Think about that. That’s averaging 22 years of 100 RBI seasons…Haha!
September 14, 2022 at 9:49 pm #200649Helsley hasn’t been as dominant lately. Hope he slams the door with bad intentions tonight.
September 14, 2022 at 9:49 pm #200650Ryan Helsley looking to close matters out here in the 9th in a 4-1 St. Louis ballgame.

stlcard25ParticipantSisler looks to have hit .400 only twice in his career, 1920 and 1922. In between, he hit “only” .371.

correct I guess he was the first to average .400 ( before the RajahSeptember 14, 2022 at 9:57 pm #200654We have an 8 game lead with 19 games remaining. I would say the NLC race is over even if we do have a tough road trip next week.
September 14, 2022 at 9:57 pm #200655I wonder if Helsley has recently lost a couple ticks off his fastball? Gets the job done though …….4-1 Birds your final.
September 14, 2022 at 9:58 pm #200656Nice!!!! Great game.
September 14, 2022 at 9:58 pm #200657To me, the amazing thing about Sisler is that he had total of six 200 hit seasons in which two were seasons in which he collected 257 and 246 hits and he still ended up a little short of the 3000 hit plateau. But he retired at a still pretty young age of 37.

September 14, 2022 at 9:59 pm #200659So the Cards are back to being good again.
And Carter sure has all the stretch query contestants baffled tonight.
September 14, 2022 at 10:00 pm #200660Well, the Cardinals may make the post-season after all…
September 14, 2022 at 10:01 pm #200661Dom…didn’t Ichiro break that Sisler record of single season hits?
September 14, 2022 at 10:03 pm #200662EuroDandy…Yep, he sure did! Sometime I’m going to ask the panel of experts if they know the only guy to ever collect 5000 hits…Haha!

Nope. I screwed up due to faulty brain cells
September 14, 2022 at 10:04 pm #200664LeGrand…Yeah, I’m pretty sure he did!
September 14, 2022 at 10:04 pm #200665Great rebound. Looking like our Cardinals again. Excellent team win with a lot of tight moments. Pitching defense and hitting all came through.
It’s a Winner!September 14, 2022 at 10:05 pm #200666Sometime I’m going to ask the panel of experts if they know the only guy to ever collect 5000 hits
Pete Rose?
September 14, 2022 at 10:05 pm #200667Go Cardinals!
September 14, 2022 at 10:08 pm #200668EuroDandy…I think Ichie may be close if you combine his Big League hit total with his Japanese League total, but I wouldn’t bet on Rose…
September 14, 2022 at 10:09 pm #200669Nope. I screwed up due to faulty brain cells
Actually a good idea, Carter, even if the execution was a little off. Somebody should take the initiative to do this every game thread to spice it up some, kinda like the din-din inputs. I don’t mean the same person doing it every game, but different people could provide the question of the game.
September 14, 2022 at 10:10 pm #200670Clever 1td, I’m on to what you said! Never bet on Rose.
