Enjoyed your earlier memories of old gloves Carter/wooster/TD1. Reminds me of my first glove, which in fact was my dad’s wretched old piece of leather, not only too big but also flat as a pancake and stiff as mom’s dust pan. Try scooping up grounders with that. Don’t know how the old timers did it. But I wrestled with that miserable glove through Little League. Finally I saved up enough money to buy my own and I got a Marty Marion four-fingered model that I played with well into American Legion days until somebody knicked it off the sidelines where I had tossed it. Sad day indeed. Voila a bit of personal nostalgia. (FYI, latest model gathering dust in the closet is a Rawlings Reggie Jackson outfielders mitt leftover from those long-gone tavern league softball days.)
