5:40 p.m.
RHP Miles Mikolas (1-0, 2.61) vs. RHP Sandy Alcantara (1-0, 3.18)
BSM // KMOX
Also BSSE and BSSW+April 20, 2022 at 10:19 am #182848Hope Mikolas can repeat his performance at Milwaukee the last time out. This might be a tough one if Alcantara is on his game. Me and Whitey Herdog will be tuning in.
Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Meeting my coaching buddy from Tecumseh High School there today. Meatloaf, fish, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet potatoes, baked carrots, and some cherry cobbler and soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Oh, and the Reds have now lost eight in a row. And Tommy Pham wants to fight Luke Voit for what he thinks is a dirty slide last night that knocked Stephenson out of the game.

ParticipantCarlson gets a start off, Noot to RF and Edman to leadoff. I like it.
April 20, 2022 at 4:32 pm #182857Let’s go boys. Need that energy now boys. Damp and dreary here in StL, let’s find that FL energy now boys.
April 20, 2022 at 4:33 pm #182858Wouldn’t mind Dickerson and Nooty hitting the ball hard somewhere today either.

ParticipantDickerson had a nice rbi line drive during the Matz start, but so far he’s not centered the ball well.
April 20, 2022 at 5:05 pm #182861Goldschmidt – tears it up during spring training. Can’t hit a lick once the season starts.
Edman – Can’t hit a lick during spring training. Tears it up once the season starts.
Go figure……..
April 20, 2022 at 5:47 pm #182862Looks to be pub food for din-din at the BicycleMike locale – cheddar brats and fries. Will have fruit for dessert.
Put Sosa in there and I would really like tonight’s lineup. Did not like losing Alacantara at all, but understood the deal at the time. Seemed a bit risky as Ozuna was coming off a career year, but you never know until you try.
April 20, 2022 at 6:12 pm #182863We’re all aware of his woes at the plate but PDJ plays a very, very nice SS.
April 20, 2022 at 6:12 pm #182864Stuffed peppers and cucumber salad for dinner at the Hammer house this sevening.
April 20, 2022 at 6:30 pm #182865Just saw the lineup. 5 of our 9 hitters are below .200 and another is barely above. Ouch.
April 20, 2022 at 6:33 pm #182866Wife not home so for din din I am destroying the leftover anti-pasta tray from Easter. Desert will be a half pitcher of leftover mimosa.
April 20, 2022 at 7:09 pm #182867Making Creese and Brocolli Stuffed Chicken Breast from the frozen isle, real baked potatoes and cooked corn on the cob buttered of course
. Got the game on Miami’s Station tonight get to see it good. Slow so far. Lookin like another pitchers game. Maybe it will liven up soon!April 20, 2022 at 7:46 pm #182869Damn. Noots is really struggling so far.
April 20, 2022 at 7:56 pm #182870Yeah Hammer it must hurt stopping the bouncer with the side of your head. Alcantra is getting crazy movement on his pitches. Should have taken long at bats in this game to run his pitch count up and get him out of there. Hard to hit anything off what hes throwing right now!
April 20, 2022 at 7:56 pm #182871Looks like a pitcher’s duel has broken out. These are the ones that are very satisfying to win and frustrating to lose.
April 20, 2022 at 7:58 pm #182872He’s looked a little overmatched all year at the plate so far.
April 20, 2022 at 8:08 pm #182873Alcantara is definitely the one that got away for Mo. Arozarena and Voit have gotten the headlines but Sandy would dominate with this defense.
April 20, 2022 at 8:08 pm #182874Coming into tonight, he’s had 5 plate appearances in three weeks. Hard to say he’s been “overmatched all year” when all year consists of 5 PAs.
April 20, 2022 at 8:24 pm #182875agree StlCard, that was one terrible trade the Cards made with the Fish there.
April 20, 2022 at 8:26 pm #182876Well people, we saw an up close example tonight of that old unwritten baseball rule, “never trade a pitcher named Sandy.”
April 20, 2022 at 8:28 pm #182877Nado!!
