Also BSSE and BSSW+Hope Mikolas can repeat his performance at Milwaukee the last time out. This might be a tough one if Alcantara is on his game. Me and Whitey Herdog will be tuning in.
Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Meeting my coaching buddy from Tecumseh High School there today. Meatloaf, fish, mashed taters and gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet potatoes, baked carrots, and some cherry cobbler and soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Oh, and the Reds have now lost eight in a row. And Tommy Pham wants to fight Luke Voit for what he thinks is a dirty slide last night that knocked Stephenson out of the game.

Put Sosa in there and I would really like tonight’s lineup. Did not like losing Alacantara at all, but understood the deal at the time. Seemed a bit risky as Ozuna was coming off a career year, but you never know until you try.

Looks like a pitcher’s duel has broken out. These are the ones that are very satisfying to win and frustrating to lose.
Alcantara is definitely the one that got away for Mo. Arozarena and Voit have gotten the headlines but Sandy would dominate with this defense.
Coming into tonight, he’s had 5 plate appearances in three weeks. Hard to say he’s been “overmatched all year” when all year consists of 5 PAs.
Well people, we saw an up close example tonight of that old unwritten baseball rule, “never trade a pitcher named Sandy.”
