Funny stuff, LACardFan! Actually, I’ve already skipped town to escape the Feds. 8:5 odds on them not catching up with me. I’m chowing down a plate of Fiddlers in a quaint little Tempe, AZ bar as we speak.

Pugs, the secret to skipping town is not to tell anyone where you are!!!

I always enjoy a good challenge, LACardFan. I was thinking Jays in 6, but now they just may polish them off in 5. I know it’s only 1 game, but it’s Toronto’s year. I think we all remember Game 1 of the ’82 WS when the Brewers absolutely destroyed us at Busch ……I think the final was like 10-1.

That was a beatdown. The first inning was maybe the most important one, in that it set the tone for what was to come later.

Just watched a replay of yesterday’s game and am still smiling at the treatment of those mighty Dodgers. Be delighted to see more of the same.

Minutes before first pitch of Game #2.

I wonder if my prediction of the BlueJays in four games will hold true?

Can’t believe I’m rooting for a team from the AL in thr ws.

Although the Dodgers hold a slim 1-0 2nd inning lead, it almost seems like they trail by a run or two. Especially after that E-3 from Big Freddie on the easy IF pop-up. The Toronto fans are in a veritable frenzy.

Are you kidding me? They scored that pop-up an IF base hit. Freddie must not have gotten a glove on it. If that’s the case, I can’t understand why there’s no discretion to score that an E-1. I always thought that if an out should have been recorded, it should go into the books as a Das Boot.

A lot of (defensive) statistics have a high amount of personal bias in them, which is why I prefer Statcast metrics (not OAA, as that has bias as well).

Well, Kirk is no longer perfect for the series, but he did get a sac fly.

I’m not sure if the scoring on that play displayed any bias, LA. Blindness maybe, but not bias…The reality is that I would have had an outside chance of squeezing that pop-up for the out…Haha!

Yamamoto with another outstanding post-season turn in game that the Dodgers obviously need to win before heading back home to Dodger Stadium.

I’d have to say that was the most significant WP of the ’25 season. Dodgers now up by 3.

And they tack on another run to make it 5-1 heading into the home half of the 8th. Some breathing room but certainly not an insurmountable lead.

Haha…That ad that says, “Live Betting Available on Fanduel” comes with the official red white and blue MLB batter silhouette logo attached to it. Who would have ever thunk it? Not me.

Yamamoto now thru 8 innings of work on 93 pitches. If he doesn’t start the 9th Roberts should be evaluated for soundness of mind.

That is the kind of pitching that wins World Series.

You ain’t kidding. Dodgers needed this game and Yamamoto delivered. After watching that first game I’m entirely convinced that they’ve got a tiger by the tail. This WS now heads to Dodger Stadium but the Blue Jays won 2 of 3 in Seattle. This contest looks to be a genuine battle. Good!

12/325mil w/a 50mil as a signing bonus should secure a performance like Yamamotos. Gotta pay for top end talent.

Yamamoto with a masterpiece as he had everything working. I believe when he was being wooed by MLB teams, Nootbaar lobbied for him on our behalf. But in the end it is the almighty Yen that makes the decision.

Looking like we might have a good series here. Toronto needs at least one of these three in Chavez Ravine, and I think they can get that and this thing will be settled north of the border.

Sometime after the Series is complete I will start a thread on my computer baseball project featuring the “Best of St. Louis” tourney. Hopefully it will provide some off season entertainment for everyone.

    I am curious about something.

Will both teams fly back to LA after the Saturday night game? Or will they both wait and fly back to LA on Sunday morning?

I assume both will have a light workout at Doyer Stadium today (Sunday), correct?

My guess is they flew out this morning, and will maybe have a light workout tomorrow late morning early afternoon, before getting ready for the real thing later in evening. Just a guess though.

Toronto traveled Saturday night. LA traveled on Sunday and had a workout that afternoon.

Another factoid: The Dodgers use two planes instead of one.
