Harmony, I love Arroyo even over Montes. I think I’ve made that way to clear! Hah
On top of Donnie, what would it take to get Arroyo and Clijente? Jesus (not Josh) Baez? Noot?
Give us a realistic package for those two when you get a second?
I’d go with Barco and Garcia by a photo finish, won by team needs.
For those that are bored, Thursday morning ”Chaim takes the deal”?
One for one deal back for Donnie. OF or CI guys with a minimum of 55 projected power is my “must have”.
Copy and paste? Two options are acceptable in this.
Mariners:
Red Sox:
Dodgers:
Giants:
Yankees:
Guardians:
Royals:
Padres:
Mystery team:JJ, From a value perspective 100% I would.
From a needs perspective, it would have to involve other moves. With Winn and JJW hopefully extended in ST and if/when Victor starts getting on base, his positions are hopefully blocked.
Having a Blaze and a Jett on the same team would be fun though! Unfortunately we now have to face him a lot each year when he is in his prime and Cards are contenders.
Pugs, what about Gage Wood?
Can you imagine a rotation featuring him and “Richard” Fitts?!?
Announcer: Tonight the Cardinals are going to “Richard” Fitts and tomorrow they will ask a lot from Gage Wood.
Pugs, looks like the Phillies could use a speedy Church in CF to keep “pace”! And maybe a backup C that’s a Crooks….
Ive thought that was a good partner on those two since day 1
My buddy and I were talking the other night when we were watching football that our best Hope of ever making the Olympics was in curling. If there’s anyone in the Chicagoland area that would like to try curling for the very first time, let me know!
JJ, What I meant was that if, for example, Josh Baez, he’s on the 40 man and likely won’t be on this 26 man in 2026, but he won’t even be able to play in Memphis during the lockout.
Aka, Doyle would not be allowed to pitch in Memphis in 2027 and build up innings if he is on the 40 man.Sorry to hear rat, my lil husky is my best buddy and can’t imagine.
He’s a Cards, Niners and Illini fan and loves watching games.
GScott has a good point regarding negotiating the service time. If I recall, 2020 counted as a full season during the “insert what you call it” season.
Unless someone is going to have to be added before the 2026 rule 5 date, any intelligent team that is rebuilding won’t call that player up. Aka Doyle.
Not for being cheap or manipulating Service time, just because if they are on the 40 Man roster already, they won’t be able to even play in the minors and build up innings, work on certain things, etc.January 20, 2026 at 3:33 pm in reply to: Right-handed hitting outfielder acquisitition thread #299566The St. Louis Cardinals, with Noot not (likely) playing early in the season, they will have more than enough at bats to hand out in a corner position/DH. Any of Hayes, Andujar or Moncada or even 2 of them can get plenty of AB’s.
Walker still has one option year, they need to use that and get him right until at least midseason. They aren’t doing him a financial favor long term or anyone else. If he comes into spring training and hits 10 HRs in February and March, that’s a different discussion, but I don’t see that happening.
Sort of the same topic, if Saggese is competent in the OF he’s the “new Donnie”. Hope he gets at least a grass “runway”. There is actually a tiny airport in my hometown with a grass runway so I’m allowed to make that joke!
JJ, risk factor….. Get what you can get while you still have multiple options.
See: Edman for Fedde basically, did we learn zilch?!?
Bloom basically needs to send a text today, saying “We will be making our decision on Donnie and Jojo at 1/21/26 at 3pm CST, if you’re still interested in one or both, we can announce that evening. You know what type of players/prospects we want”
Sometimes you need to tell people regardless of being a president of baseball operations or a CEO of the company that they need to shit or get off the pot
For anyone that wants to keep him or JoJo through the deadline, there is a big issue called an injury, or a decline, especially on a losing team.
If they would’ve traded Helsley last winter, they would’ve gotten a heck of a lot more back than they did. Even though in the end, it did seem the Cardinals won that one based on how he performed in Queens.
This is a chip you can’t risk that long on and take that risk nor is JoJo.
CIF, why do you hope that? Assets for 2028-our lifetimes are more important than a 31 year old FA when they might stop sucking!
I love him, but realize it’s moronic to keep him. Fact.
I hope the lack of new speculation/rumors on Donnie and Jojo isn’t a sign of “nothing is gonna happen”.
I always forget about Thompson and the Pack-man. If healthy, either could be the other LHRP at less than a million.
Roby and Hjerpe will be headed to the 60 day DL when eligible so there will definitely be spots open.
I like Nigel’s idea at the top if Cards add Donnie and Dodgers add Morales and River Ryan….
January 18, 2026 at 9:20 am in reply to: Right-handed hitting outfielder acquisitition thread #299455LA, which is why we need to pray Donnie brings back a potential middle of the order bat. There is enough pitching depth now that a few will be well above average.
You can lose 10-9 or 1-0, butts in the seats prefer 10-9
How is the bottom line number determined to get the welfare check for DeWitt?
I agree for the most part, but let’s call a spade a spade and say that 2026 will just be a fun season to watch the minors. I’ll look at milb box scores a heck of a lot more than I will the STL version of the organization.
Teoscar is signed for 26 and 27 with an option for 28 which could be the Cardinals first truly “go for it year”. If they could get those prospects plus Teoscar in return, the STL organization would be better for it.
Curious if anyone would put Luna or Carrion on their top 30 list? Padilla’s high ranking nationally and Dos Santos not being ranked makes me not understand their methodology even more yearly.
Luna’s upside bat/power makes me think it’s possible for him.
After the Tucker signing and the Dodgers prospect “richness” and the Cards need of a RHH OFer, the Cards could be the “buyer” to try and be respectable.
-Dodgers get Donnie and Jojo ($10.6M combined)
– Cards get Emil Morales, River Ryan and Teoscar w/ B/O paid in 2028 (19.94 CBA number)2026 – $19.94 -10.6 = 9.34 + 9.34 x110%
So it would save them roughly $20M in 2026 and a better balanced team.January 16, 2026 at 11:44 am in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2024-2026 #299323Harmony, Sloan and Arroyo are gonna look great with the “Birds on The Bat” uniforms!
January 16, 2026 at 11:13 am in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2024-2026 #299320Bichette to Mets, 3/126, wow.
Is Toronto now on the Donnie list of suitors?
Mariners, Red Sox, Dodgers, Yankees, Giants, BJ’s,etc now can start their bidding wars please!
