Anyone know anything about Palm Beach lefty Yordy Herrera? 21 years old with a lot of Ks.

Thanks. Brian. I am disappointed Cana isn’t on the roster. And I guess Lunawould be a possibility next year.

With Hanson activated I wonder they won’t use him and Rincon and try and get them 4 innings each.

I wouldn’t do that trade. Maybe Pallante for him? I’d want more Romero too.

This Rodriguez kid is amazing, even more so for his age. He ought to be at AA by his age 20 season.

Great outing by Mathews, but his control issues remain. I was hopeful he might be in the rotation mix this summer. Is there any news on Fitts’ injury. With his injury we the only real insurance to our rotation is Dobbins. I know it’s way too early, but Van Dyke looks like an innings eater.

Hence also threw a lot of breaking balls. He didn’t seem to have much confidence in his heater.

Our pitching needs sharp imrovement. I honestly thought our starting pitching might be pretty good

I’d like to see Gastulem get added. I don’t think his lack of AAA experience will hurt. Let him get his feet wet. I’d also like to see Watson at AAA. He has done really well at Springfield.

Cool to hear about Galle. I saw they had him pitch the 9th. Another live arm.

I think Baez could play center, but right field would more suit him. Eventually I’d like to see Walker in left (kind of wonder how he’d adapt to the switch?) Scott in center, and Baez in right, with Church as the extra outfielder. Trade Noot sometime this year. Also send Saggesse down when Baez is ready.

It is concerning how much Crooks has struck out. He is trending towards a disturbing lack of contact.
On the pitching side, it looks like Mathew’s, Doyle, Sparks, and Van Dyke will be the starters. Not sure if there are piggyback starters involved. Maybe Breckheimer is bdeing developed as a starter?

Cards have some relievers pitching well. Love and Watson have combined for 17 strikeouts in 9 innings. Murphy has been a good addition as well.so the bullpen could get help. At least Memphis should.
Good to see a Lin pitched a strong game. Like Mathews he has to throw strikes.

Dobbins has pitched 5 innings, is nearly ready, so he likely will need 2 more starts. Now if Pallante pitches fairly well he’ll stay in the rotation. But I think he should have to sermon it after last year.

Catcher is the last position I’d target early unless they are heads above their next choice. Of, if, and you can never had enough pitching. Plus, several of the mock drafts have position players going early, so pitching may be the way to go.

I wonder how many starts Pallantes will be given if he bombs out like yesterday? We have Dobbins and Fitts (assuming he’ll be back from the IL by the time a change is considered)

Baseball America has the Cards taking catcher Helfrick from Ariana’s with their 13th pick, and a pitcher named Townsend with their 32nd pick. I really wouldn’t think they’d take a catcher in the first round without them being clearly the BPA.

Very interesting point about Heath. In only 75 abs he has amassed very impressive offensive numbers. He should more playing time going forward. Let’s see if he can sustain these numbers. Hopefully he gets the Bernal/Crooks treatment. Play him every day at catcher, dh, ad 1b He’s done great as a 20th round pick.

Bob, that trade brings back some bad memories. To trade away 2 quality pitchers for 2 years of Ozuna is one of the worst trades in recent memory.

It’s a huge if, but if Walker can keep raking, and Baez proves himself at AAA, our outfield may be much better than expected sometime soon. It also could pave the way to trade Nootbaar.

Lin pitched 4 reallly goood innings. Him and Odle didn’t show any wildness. They both have very live arms. Lin has to be one pushing for a 40 man roster spot.

Has anyone changed their mind on the Cards win total? I started at 75, and now I’ll up it to 77. Our bullpen is bad, and Walker won’t keep hitting like this. I am very disappointed in Svanson among others. I thought he’d be a mainstay.

I don’t think we need to be in a rush to trade any of our top catching prospects. I would call up Crooks, and send Pozo down though. Give Bernal primary catching duties at Memphis. What’s even more interesting is next year. Rodriguez could make it to Memphis by then. Similar to the Donovan trade, and a future Romero deal, I would not be in a hurry.

I wonder of those who are injured will have impacts on our minor leagues.

Clarke, who is on the Springfield roster, should be rehabbing soon, and pitch for Peoria.

Hjerpe, who also should pitch again in June. Because he is on the 40 man roster, it looks like he would be switched to the bullpen like Hence.

Ellisalt is on the 60 day DL, and would return to Peoria this summer.

Robberse would be added to the Memphis pen. He is interesting because after he gets healthy the switch might make tick up his velocity.

Thompson might provide a valuable lefty bullpen piece later in the year. He can be a minor league free agent after this year, so it is his last chance with the Cards.

Dohm has yet to pitch, but is on the Peoria roster, so we should see him soon.

Graham is recovering from Tommy John surgery last year, but if his recovery is normal he should return late this summer.

Interesting move for Ynfante from Palm Beach to Springfield, skipping Peoria. I’m assuming this is depth move, but it’s interesting that the FO must like Ynfante.
