Oh they already played the futures game? It feels like they chose a horrible time with the intent of no one watching. That should have been a Sunday Night game with very little competition
Well he made it what 2.5 games? I assume Luna is hurt again since he was replaced defensively in the middle of the inning.
I love the Kennedy pick. Guy couldn’t hit at all his first 2 years, has lasik eye surgery, and suddenly is smashing the balm making great swing decisions.
Williamson sounds interesting. He likely smashes in the lower levels but I imagine with his bat wrap he struggles when he gets to AA or AAA against better high velo pitchers

I don’t know much on him. Sounds like a Bloom / Cerfolio pick though that tracks with last year’s picks. A guy with good traits but not much of a track record and has pen risk. Seems like they are betting on him improving since he is still 20 and low on experience against good competition.
Rocco has a lot of upside as he is a great defender and has power. But he does have massive swing and miss risk. He wasn’t one of my favorite HS guys as I liked a few guys with hit to go with power but I do like that they went for upside.
Spangler and Thome gone now. I really wish we had taken one of them at 32 over Kuhns
The Tennessee Volunteers will be pitching or the Cardinals in a few years
Kuhns is okay as well. I don’t love a pitcher there but Kuhns has 3/4 type upside.
I wouldn’t recommend clicking on a link I didnt trust either. No guarantees I guess dont click on any than you are safe. My understanding is the https means it’s OK but what do I know. I know enough not to click on any of the advertising.
The s in HTTPs just means it a secured connection between you and the website and people anywhere in the world can’t see the data you and sending to / from the website as it is encrypted. Never use a non HTTPs site for anything personal info, cards numbers, passwords, etc and in general steer clear of them as all sites should be https now.
But the s doesn’t verify the integrity of the website itself. It could still go to a malicious site that uses secure end to end encryption, but the site hosts are trying to collect info and sell it or use it for malicious purposes.
Sorry I was multi-tasking and fixed the comment in an edit. Just URL in general but you can’t see where it actually goes since it is a google share that could take you anywhere and you can’t validate the authenticity of the website.
KCB, the links you share often have URLs where I can’t determine if actually goes to a secure website or takes you somewhere to steal your info.

Fangraphs staff says Condon is the least toolsy guy taken so far out of the first 17 picks
Condon wasn’t a horrible pick to me but just not my favorite. At least it wasn’t a pitcher who likely would get hurt
Fingers crossed the next pick for the Cards is an upside pick for a guy with pop like Thome or Spangler
I don’t love the Condon pick. I don’t think he is going to hit for enough power to be a valuable big leaguer.
Ah there goes Burress and Gracia who I was hoping one of would make it to the Cardinals
Bling
Depending on how much Mo raids the Cardinals FO this winter, potentially it could be a serious setback, as when Luhnow left and others followed. Potentially, say if Flores is recruited away, he could then recruit others.
I could see this being a good thing because the people he would raid would be the guys Mo had brought in and liked and Flores and a few guys leaving gives Bloom a chance to bring in his own guys. I could see him replacing Flores soon even if he stayed
I’m on the same page as 25. To find elite position players, you often have to get them out of high school since the players so talented often never make it to college. Many do improve on college and show they have good upside as well though but beyond the top, most college guys are lower ceiling higher floor. I don’t want to draft a guy to just make the bigs but instead someone who can be an impact player.
I generally don’t have concerns drafting either high school or college for position players and just base it purely off talent. For pitchers, I am full on board with 25’s data that college P are the way to go and steer clear of high school pitchers like the plague. Pitchers in general are risky but also much more unpredictable. It just takes a few adjustments for a guy who was just ehh to suddenly be an ace level.
Willie I doubt JJ is upset at instantly having a net worth of over $100 million. He will be able to sign another deal as well before his career is over and if he can easily make a great amount on interest
Wooo just seeing the news and this is a FANTASTIC deal. He will provide much much more value than that. This year $29.2 million of value this year.
Didn’t he just get off the IL?
27, you don’t draft on need and you draft for the best player available. The pitchers at the top of this class aren’t great outside of Flora and no way he makes it to 13. I also really don’t want a C but part of that is Helfrick is a guy generally mocked around 13 and I don’t like players with 30 hit tool (Gorman).
Cho and Baez since being promoted decided who needs singles when all your hits can be HRs
Luna finally returned today
