It looks like Baez and Molina player and pitcher of the month for June. Gastelum wasn’t scored on either, so it might be him

Nice to see everything sorted out and organized. Eleven players who OPS’d .950 or above in June sounds good. But it’s hard to evaluate something like that without a standard of comparison. I am not asking that someone should figure out how many other teams had 11 players who OPS’d .950 or above. Just commenting.

I would be shocked if they did not choose Gurevitch. The only other reasonable choice is Miguel Hernandez and for reasons you mentioned Brian, he won’t be chosen over Gurevitch.
Gurevitch was one of my favorite picks last year. I know I mentioned after the draft considering him our 2nd best prospect selected (just barely behind Doyle at the time). I now have him 3rd behind both Doyle and Franklin in my list, but that is because I’ve also now fallen in love with Franklin. Gurevitch is my number 12 overall as I published a couple weeks ago on this site. If he could play more than 1B/3B, I’d have him around 5 or 6. Cutting down his strikeout totals will be his main objective. That part of his game can still be a bit scary. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play a bit of corner outfield at some point too as he has enough speed to be fine out there.

Can someone remind me the criteria for when a player becomes ineligible for the prospect list? I know 130 PA’s counts. Jordan is at 126 so is very likely to hit 130 today. But Crooks is just at 95, Torres at 89. Crooks will be a close thing by August 15, and Torres probably doesn’t get there.
But do we count 45 days active on the MLB roster? If so, both have used up their eligibility.

You are both close. It is 130 at-bats (not plate appearances) or 50 innings or 45 days active before 9/1.
In a nod to Kyle Reis, who hates to rank players already in MLB, for August, we are removing Crooks, Torres, Gastelum and Jordan from our prospect rankings.

I didn’t know about the 9/1 date playing into the service time figure. Interesting.
Its origin was in the days when as many as 15 players could be added in September, to the full 40-man capacity. Now, it is just two additions and most often they seem to be MLB players coming off the IL, so dishing out that little bit of extra service time in today’s world wouldn’t be that big of a deal. But nothing that affects money changes without negotiation between players and owners.
The reduction to two in September is one of my hot buttons. The MLBPA sold out to get a 26th man on all the MLB rosters for the full season. The owners agreed because they could save the necessary salary by severely limiting the September additions. ‘So what if a bunch of minor leaguers don’t get to come up in September?’, they probably said.
