I will be interested to see how he does of he plays 3B. No real risk on moving him there and it doesn’t hurt to see if he is acceptable defensively there instead of just jumping to an assumption that he can’t play there.
I’m ready to be done with Eastern time games. Bling said in another thread it is an awkward time due to dinner prep and I agree with that.
I haven’t had Campos on my top 50 in the past year or so at least, but he has been steadily chugging along. My main gripe with him was he constantly smashed the ball into the ground, but he has been improving there. I still don’t know if he is a top 50 prospect for me, but that is more about the current depth of the org. But I do look at Campos more as a guy who may not stick in the Cards org, but he will play in the bigs and likely stick around for a while as a backup catcher type of guy bouncing from team to team.
Gastelum has done very well lately. The Cards really need controllable guys like him to develop into bullpen pieces rather than having to spend money on the pen. I’m getting to where I would like to see Winquest or Rincon get a chance as well.
I really enjoyed the episode this week and getting to hear more about some of the position players and AAA RP.
Miguel Hernandez does have some really impressive metrics in A ball. He is hitting the ball really hard while lifting and making acceptable rates of contact. Nice to hear Kyle’s thoughts in him.
The Rojas promotion is interesting. DSL and FCL are done with their real seasons, but the FCL I think has some bridge games and maybe they wanted to get Rojas to the US and see what he has to potentially be aggressive with him next year.
I haven’t had a chance to listen to this, but sharing it. I’ll try to watch some point in the next few days.

Leahy has proved me right and wrong. Last year this time I thought he would be getting a rotation spot and that was right. But early this year I had given up on him as a SP since he was struggling so bad and pitching so short into games. But he has really improved since mid June and has been very dominant albeit in short stints. I think they are trying to limit his innings as he still isn’t pitching deep. But maybe with a full season under his belt as a SP by next year they let him pitch deeper.
We didn’t have a top 10 pick this year and people loved our 1st pick and our draft.
I didn’t love the first pick but with who was on the board it was an okay selection. The guys I really wanted went a few picks earlier that I saw as having a good amount more upside than Condon (described by FG as least toolsy top 15 pick). Maybe Condon will end getting to enough power though to have enough upside to be an above average offensive guy though.
I wish this team could either play well enough to squeak into the playoffs with a young roster to build postseason experience or just start losing to improve their draft status for next year. Instead they are in the middle which to me is the worst place to be. I don’t like aging losing ia good, but a top 10 pick again would be nice to have for the future team to maybe have another potential star level guy
Very nice to see Luna returned today playing DH. Carrior and Rojas are back as well. Although Carrior hasn’t played well.
It looks like Mathews couldn’t put guys away at 2 strikes at times and racked up some long PA keeping him from going deep in the game. He did have a lot of Ks but the gamecast he got ahead of quite a few guys and they kept battling to draw walks or at least up his pitch count.
Yeah 1TD Misorowksi has been down right dominant. He looks even more impressive when you look at it through K% rather then than just the /9 stats. You can walk and/or give up hits to boost your /9 rates since you face more batters. He is at 39.8K%. The next best full season was Spencer Strider at 32.7K% so Misiorowski is blowing the best K% season out of the water.
He is fun to watch. You can tell the Brewers staff just told him that no one can hit his stuff so just throw it down the middle basically. His BB% dropped massively and just the approach you can see. He challenges guys and throws strikes keeping his pitch count down
I’m glad to see Quinn is scheduled to pitch this one. It will be a tough assignment pitching in Cincinnati so hopefully he limits fly balls this game.
Since he is the 27th man he will go back down afterwards. I’m curious if the Sep callup spot is Mathews for the pitching side rather than a RP.
That was just one outing. His overall season has been good not great. It seems like they are so crunched for playing time though they are making aggressive moves to free up some playing time.
I was catching up with some of the roster moves. A few were quite surprising to me. Any idea why Aita, Van Dyke, and Graham were put on the development list?
I didn’t expect them to cut Cameron Nickens. He did well at Palm Beach and struggled in Peoria, but it seemed like he could use some more time.
Lots of releases overall. I suppose they are struggling to allocate playing time and fring guys like Ugueto got squeezed out.
A name standing out box score wise was Mirabel in the DSL. Interesting he was signed a couple weeks back at 18 years old. I’m kind of curious how a guy like him goes under the radar for a couple of years and signs at 18. The way the DSL signings generally work is these guys have been scouted heavily since little league age.
Ha they couldn’t even get it correct after an update. Checking this morning they still have it as Blaze Alexander.

Fajardo will get probably 30 innings in AA this year. I assume he starts there next year, but the rate they have been promoting him, he probably goes to Memphis early in the year. I could see a small chance he debuts at 20 late next year but with more realistic odds he debuts at 21 early 2028.
If you compare Kuhns and Fajardo directly, Fajardo to me as just as much if not more upside while being younger pitching in AA while Kuhns has only pitched in college so far.
I personally have Fajardo in my top 5, but maybe I am being overly aggressive on him. I likely was with Mason Molina, but maybe he can make that AAA adjustment and return to form.
