rainy day around the St Louis region…seems like a dark cloud is hanging over the franchise…feeling a loss today.
Romero is not traded (injury concerns). May could be traded, but I am not expecting much for him; might get a number 40th to 50th prospect from a team willing to buy the dip on him. Riley O’ Brien should definitely be moved if anyone is foolish to partake. I honestly think the man has the Ankiel “yips” and is cooked; the dude has no grit to be a closer. His stock has severely taken a hit and isnt worth much. Like May, you’d be lucky to get a number 40th prospect for him. Nootbaar is an overachieving 4th OF, his trade value is not great; again maybe a number 40th organizational prospect for him.
This wont be popular, but here goes: Herrera, Burleson, and Baez should all be made available for sale. Baez is screaming bust to me. The dude strikes out way too much. Someone will bite on that power and would net a nice return of prospects. Herrera has soured on me and I am done with him. His lack of humility in not wanting to be potential LF/DH tells me all i need to know about his character. He is not a team player and only wants to satisfy his selfish desires to be a catcher. The dude cant throw anyone out on the base paths and his offense has taken a proverbial dump since he has been behind the plate. Injuries aside, he is at peak value and should be offloaded.
Burleson is a good baseball player, but he needs to be traded to get more prospects. The drafting of Caden Ferraro in the 2026 MLB draft screams that Burleson’s job is in jeopardy as a 1B for the Cardinals. Team batting average will take a hit for sure and getting rid of Burly will hurt for sure. But he is a great asset for a contending team that needs a bat. This rebuild is going to take a long time and its looking like 2030 might not even be a playoff year for this club. Thanks Mozeliak. It sucked losing the series to his new team in Anahiem.
feels like early spring out there today even though its overcast. speaking of overcast. got a feeling that the season is about to go south for the Birdos. each time they approach .500 they really. I don’t think they can out-slug their pitiful starting pitching and horrible pen. I am probably wrong, but that weekend in KC was eye opening involving the starters performances.
Arenado is probably going to tee off on the Cards and I think we will lose 2 of 3. With the Cubs in Wrigley and games against the Braves and Brew Crew…we will be sellers come mid-July. It was fun while it lasted. Lets just hope they finish not too far below .500. Go Cards!
Hope you see a good game Keep Coming Back, hopefully the offense doesn’t lay an egg. Bullpen has let the offense down in 2 of 3 games.
Hope Dobbins rises to the occasion in the bright lights of NYC. Mets are putrid, hopefully the Cardinals as a whole win 2/3 in Flushing. Having VS II in Memphis improves the teams chances in that regard. Gorman also needs to be in Memphis (don’t know if he has options left).
That’s probably the ball game…even though they are down by one run. It feels like a million due to this inconsistent offense
When i see Liberatore I see Miles Mikolas…he’ll stick around because management invested a lot in him, but the guy can’t even eat innings consistently. Dobbins looks awesome so far.
I think it’s safe to say not only is Liberatore a bust as a potential ace, hes not even an MLB 5th starter. This feels like a disappointing loss after taking a 3-0 lead.
6.18 ERA starter. Makes me think we are blessed to have the starters we do. Someone always has it worse. Hopefully the offense doesn’t come out flat on Friday. Don’t know what to expect this series.
Blaze looked terrible in spring training. He’s still young, but I wouldn’t bring him up until September. I don’t think he is ready for the show. I know we are all in a hurry to get rid of Gorman. But Blaze ain’t the answer right now. I think the Cardinals should bring up Ramon Mendoza if they are gonna call anyone up. Bloom treats his 40 man spots like gold, so I don’t expect Gorman to be DFA’d anytime soon.
Eggs on my face, so much for a “winnable series”…I expect us to get swept. Pederson of Texas looks like a young whipper snapper again. Thought the dude was washed up. He looks like an MVP out there. Guess I’ll be resigned to expect close to 90 losses for this ball club.
so glad the Cards took the series from the Cubs. I’d say the rivalry is back on, now that PCA celebrated during his home run trot on Saturday night. tip of the cap to Hunter Dobbins. Much needed relief for our over worked pen.
DeGrom is definitely hit-able now in his elder years. ERA so far of 3.77 for 2026. I actually feel good for the Cards to win this series. The AL is terrible this year outside of the Rays, who we beat earlier in the year. The better teams are in the NL. Go Cards!
Rooney and Horton on the radio are great. Love their playful banter. Carey seems fake and Thompson wears me out.
I believe the main announcer is Eric Collins. Graceffo passes the eye test. Bonafide Italian Stallion. 😉
Fernandez is just as clumsy as Gorman. That’s the second throw I’ve seen this year for a needless error.
