Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Amish restaurant down in Montgomery, the Gasthof. Fried chicken, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, cherry cobbler, and some vanilla soft serve ice cream. Then a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar out on the bench in the front porch area.

I hope this isn’t the beginning of a big time slump. I do expect that to happen though as I still am expecting about a 75 win season.

Eggs on my face, so much for a “winnable series”…I expect us to get swept. Pederson of Texas looks like a young whipper snapper again. Thought the dude was washed up. He looks like an MVP out there. Guess I’ll be resigned to expect close to 90 losses for this ball club.

We look more like our club expected to be, and Pallante does not exactly inspire a lot of hope for salvaging a game in this series.

But it’s baseball and anything can happen.

You put the “mor gas” in “smorgasbord” with your feast fit for about 3 kings at the famed Gasthof Amish restaurant down in beautiful Montgomery, Indiana, Rat. If the Gasthof isn’t charging at least $60 a head for that Wednesday spread, then they’re losing big time every time Rat graces their presence.

We should hammer these guys tonight. No way these Rangers are coming into our house and sweeping our boys. Even if they had the equivalent of Nolan Ryan starting tonight’s game, with Frank Tanana and David Clyde waiting in the wings for possible relief duties, the Rangers still don’t come away with the “W”. I miscalled a game earlier in this series…….and I never miss 2 predictions in a row, so bet the ranch on this one, gang. Oh and in a few minutes I’ll be din-dining it up over at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, where a medium rare ribeye(bone in) with mashed potatoes and asparagus spears lathered in butter will be on the din-din docket. Then for dessert, I’ll be traipzing on through the Popeye’s drive thru lane to snag myself 3 of their scrumptious apple cinnamon pies.

Last night’s game illustrated what we all knew as the Bogsider’s troubles continued to prevent the W’s from being placed in the books. He’s been the linchpin of this season’s early success and if he continues to scuffle, I’d have to say that this team is over and out.

I wonder why everyone’s avatars have vanished? I’m not at all superstitious, but it’s probably the primary reason for the recent Redbird struggles.

In nearly every old picture I have of my dad, he’s holding or chomping on the ever-present cigar. He was a White Owl sort of guy…Haha!

No whining about no JJ in the lineup.

The whiz-kid probably figures that the Cardinals are going to lose the game anyway, so he figures he might as well rest his rookie 2B’man…It’s a first rate ploy.

I was just as likely to eat it as I was to smoke it.

The only thing worse than a bases empty 2 out BB, is a bases empty lead-off BB…

After pushing all 3 runs Redbird across, I’d have to say that Burleson’s more than atoned for the earlier Das Boot. He also now leads all Cardinals with a .289 BA.

Not much chatter at all in here tonight. Must’ve run out of cold Falstaff a long time ago…

We’ve been getting some good starting pitching. Wasted a bunch of it. Hopefully we hang on tonight.

When I was a kid my grandpa had a big garage behind his house and that’s where he and his buddies would smoke cigars. Second hand smoke wasn’t a thing back then so I was out there all the time. Whatever kind he smoked came in a tin can similar to a coffee can as I recall.

Hopefully a game that reminds kids that losing stretches do eventually end…Good to see a multi-hit game for Walker.

Same with my dad, Bling. He never smoked in the house or in the car my mom drove. In addition to loving his wife, he felt it was wise to steer clear of divorce proceedings…Haha!

Good to see O’Riley O’Brien have an uneventful 9th to seal the W and collect his 15th SV. Need to get his confidence back up to snuff because if he caves, this team follows suit.
