Dobbins back for the 9th. I assume he gets demoted after this but that is the unfortate part of the game. But I don’t know who they would call up in his place. Maybe they keep him though
Roycroft would be the only eligible pitcher (except Hence). I don’t know why they would do that. However, it could be someone not on the 40-man like Shuster. Probably not going to be Gastellum. He had a great week but he worked a lot. My guess would be either Shuster or Rajcic gets added tomorrow. More likely Shuster since Rajcic pitched an inning tonight.

Nice to return home and take 2 of 3 from the Cubbies after getting broomed out of MIL. This team has been able to avoid a protracted tailspin thus far this season and haven’t lost more than 4 consecutive games. I’m not sure that counts for anything, but it’s the reality.
My comments regarding the OF defense didn’t really pertain to Walker. He has done a nice job out there. Luckily we got away with Velazquez and Fermin roaming 2/3 of the OF. That was making me nervous. It reminded me of times when a manager will intentionally make out a lineup in a way to get the attention of the FO. “I could use a little help here.” lol
Dobbins certainly earned his paycheck last night. He saved the day. Literally.
For the most part, balls got hit right at Velasquez and Fermin last night. There was one ball that dropped in front of Velasquez that went for a single that I’m pretty sure a normal left fielder would have gotten to and I’m 99% certain Church would have gotten to. That “hit” didn’t lead to any runs so no harm no foul. It worked in a small sample size.
