Herrera should be the DH due to his tendency to get injured. I do agree also the Cardinals need a bopper (HR hitter) in the OF. Unfortunately the Cards can’t sign any UFA, because it’s too expensive and a lot of the OF available are older 35+.

I am really not sold on either Victor Scott II or Nootbar. Nate Church was disappointing with his bat when called up, maybe he figures it out in the spring and beats someone out. Jordan Walkers regression really hurts, he was supposed to be that guy. Cardinals are stuck with him, maybe we’ll get lucky with Walker…I am not counting on it.

LACard Fan, good analysis on Arenado. I think the Cards are stuck with him. He’s going to be the third baseman going forward. Unless management eats the contract as “dead money” and releases him. Cardinals are in a bind. It stinks because ownership are being exposed as cheap skates. We are becoming the Pirates.

I think the Cardinals are stuck with Arenado, unless management is willing to eat all of his contract and release him. If I were another team, I wouldn’t take any of his salary, and I wouldn’t give very much for him. Arenado is a glove only at this point. It was a bad signing by Mozeliak. Cardinals are going to be bad for half a decade or more. It’s a deep hole they are in.

Wow..they really are throwing away these games. This organization is a joke why throw McGreevy out there then? Libratore needs the reps!

I would be okay with having Sonny Gray here, but he should have a chance to go win somewhere else. A trade won’t do the Cards any good unless the receiving team takes his whole contract. Same goes for Arenado.

Wow…putrid game. Absolute implosion. Team has quit. I don’t know how many years on Marmol..but it’s clear his team has quit on him. This is going to take years to even attempt to fix this team. Cardinals are becoming the Pirates.

It stinks the Mets won on 9/23. They own the tie breaker over the Cards. Hopefully the Mets lose out along with the reds and Dbacks. Cards need a lot of help.

For the remaining games, if eliminated, I’d like to see Fermin, Crooks, and Church start. See what we have in 2026. I was happy to see the Cards get a gritty win on the road. Let’s keep it rollin!

2028 has a lot of players becoming free agents. Cards, really need SP badly. Liberatore, McCreevy, Gray are locks. I think Pallante could be tried in the pen, if he refuses, Cards will have to accept him as a number 5. Cards should go after Ranger Suarez.

If they can’t get Suarez, Zac Gallen would be okay, There aren’t a lot of younger options at SP that are good. It sucks the Cards don’t have anyone to bring up due to Tommy John. Hate to be Bloom, he’s got his work cut out for him. But SP is the number 1 priority!
