Cubs lose at San Francisco 5-1.
Reds lose at home to Arizona 5-3.
Pirates lose at home to Miami 4-2.
Brewers win at home 4-0.And din-din on this fine Monday will be a couple of baked potatoes, some Allen Green Beans, Bar-B-Q chips, an ice cold slushy Mt. Dew, and a big bowl of Turkey Hill Homemade Vanilla ice cream.

June 14, 2026 at 9:00 pm #309945Looks like Rat is getting an early jump on his din-din planning for tomorrow. Knowing Rat, I bet he’s also already delved into the Doppler radar maps and weather flow charts so to give us the meteorological lowdown for tomorrow’s game. You’re one in a million, Rat.
June 15, 2026 at 5:41 am #309949I’m going to the game tonight. It’s been awhile. When I couldn’t really afford it I went a lot. These last few years I turn down free tickets.
May is pitching so maybe I will see the kind of game I like. Close score good pitching.June 15, 2026 at 6:31 am #309950Give us your report, KCB, and enjoy the game!
June 15, 2026 at 12:38 pm #309962The weather looks all clear for this one tonight. As a matter of fact the entire midwest looks all clear for tonight. Which means me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the first 2-3 innings of the Mets and Reds from Riverfront Stadium. Then switch over to the Padres and Redbirds from Busch. Then late tonight we will be tuning in to the Rays and Doyers from Doyer Stadium.
Time to go and spray some weeds with my new battery powered Ryobi sprayer. Then it will be time for din-din today.

June 15, 2026 at 2:13 pm #309963Hope you see a good game Keep Coming Back, hopefully the offense doesn’t lay an egg. Bullpen has let the offense down in 2 of 3 games.
June 15, 2026 at 2:19 pm #309964Whew! Have been waiting anxiously all day for Rat’s weather report and am most happy that the coast is clear for us getting tonight’s game in without any meteorological interruptions.
With KeepComingBack in the house, I have little, if any doubt, that our boys will be on their game’s this evening. With this in mind, I think our Homer Happy Redbirds will win this one going away by the score of 11-4 with Jimmy Lee Crooks ramrodding a high deep drive that this ballpark of ours has no hopes whatsoever of containing.
Was mildly disappointed that I received nary a response yesterday to my question as to if anyone had tried the trout over at Cracker Barrel. But I’m rolling the din-din dice in a couple of hours and heading on over there to give her a go. I’ll most likely partner that trout up with their hash brown casserole, candied apples and sourdough bread with butter and strawberry jam. Then on the way hope I’ll swing on by Popeye’s drive thru lane to snag myself 3 of their scrumptious apple cinnamon pies.
And the question begs to be asked. Will there be a Via Palma El Presidente 7×50 Cuban cigar or two in the equation this evening whilst Rat and Whitey HerDog enjoy the ballgames?

Well, Abe, with addition of Noot and a couple of good looking rooks and the subtraction of the king of wishful swinging we gotta be better!
June 15, 2026 at 2:32 pm #309966You chose a picture perfect day to attend a baseball game, KCB. Doesn’t hardly get any better than this. In any case, that Mr. Rodgers guy really knew his stuff…Enjoy the game!

CF N. Church LJune 15, 2026 at 3:40 pm #309971Since Bloom has now shown himself to be aggressive in bringing up position player reinforcements from Memphis when will see it for the bullpen? I know that a lot of it has to do with who has a 40 man spot and who doesn’t but how many blown leads should we tolerate? I would think guys like Rajcic and Gastelum should be under heavy consideration.
June 15, 2026 at 3:46 pm #309972I agree. They need to release Stanek and Bruihl and bring up Rajcic and another reliever (I was thinking Mautz as a piggyback for Leahy).
June 15, 2026 at 4:01 pm #309973Winquest would be a good choice as well. His underlying metrics have been really good. He is striking out a lot of not walking many. Rajcic, Winquest, and Gastelum would be my top choices if healthy and I think they represent potential improvements over what we have now.
I also look forward to Ryan Fernandez being back as he had been pitching much better this year. I thought his rookie year he was destined for a late inning role but RPs are so up and down on performance.
June 15, 2026 at 4:38 pm #309974Gassy’s(Gastelum)pitching attributes are highly suited for success at the next level. Please trust me when I say that Gassy is one of the key components to righting our fledgling bullpen’s teetering ship. At this point I’m not exactly sure where he fits in the pen……but by golly he fits.
June 15, 2026 at 5:11 pm #309976I’m pretty certain they will wait to try to trade the veteran relievers at the deadline unless it is apparent they will have no value. I don’t think that’s apparent right now. Both Stanek and Bruihl have had good and bad moments. I think the goal would be to trade them both along with Romero and possibly O’Brien at the deadline. I actually think they may keep May and attempt to extend him. I get the feeling May is really happy here and he serves a real need. If that isn’t true or they don’t think they can come to a salary agreement, then he gets traded too. Still a chance he comes right back in the offseason too.
June 15, 2026 at 5:15 pm #309977Last month we could have received a decent prospect or two for the services of Romero and O’Brien. As it stands now we would get virtually nothing remotely resembling quality in return. Heck they may not even get us the ever mundane PTBNL. May is a totally different story, but I’d hate to lose him when we’re pitching starved as it is.
June 15, 2026 at 5:21 pm #309978Liberatore and Leahy are just as good at giving up leads as the relievers. Put them in the pen and bring up a couple starters. Another couple relievers could be swapped out for Memphis relievers.
June 15, 2026 at 6:40 pm #309979I like the look of that lineup tonight. The thing that worries me, however, is that eventually we will have to give up some of those promising bats to fix our underwhelming bullpen. None of our pen arms are worth more than a sack of BP balls in trade.
Din-din chez CiF tonight was garlic shrimp over tagliatelle, iced tea and a chilled fruit salad.
The ol’ eyelids are already drooping so I’m afraid I’ll have to catch this one on replay tomorrow. Let’s get some early runs and hang on to the doggone lead this time!
Rah Cardinals!

Good point Bling. I see 3 RPs I listed above probably close to ready. Then Quinn may be able to take a rotation spot soon and Dobbins is likely better than Leahy. Libby and Leahy to the pen with some of the young guys I listed and then even maybe Mautz or Hansen as a lefty RP type.
June 15, 2026 at 7:09 pm #309981I mentioned I liked the Twins uniforms, but I really dislike these Padres unis. I appreciate that they are rocking a different color scheme other than the most common major sports teams. But I generally really dislike pin stripes and think they could do better without them and some other minor tweaks.
June 15, 2026 at 7:16 pm #309982Very efficient start for May so far. 30 pitched through 3 innings
June 15, 2026 at 7:27 pm #309983Make that now 39 pitches through 4 for May
June 15, 2026 at 7:31 pm #309984Got to love All-Star voting. Wetherholt is the 12th best player in all of baseball by FWAR. He’s the 9th best second baseman in the National League by All Star votes.
June 15, 2026 at 7:32 pm #309985Boy Burly robbed of a HR by Merrill. Burky has been on fire lately and I thought he had another one there
