Lots of folks turning on Bull I see.

Bader swinging for the fences with the perfect launch angle, but he strikes out with men on 2nd and 3rd. A simple bloop base hit would’ve plated 2 and probably iced the game.
That is not Cardinals baseball. I like him and want to keep him, but his youth frequently shows.
Look for Bader to the bench next game and O’Neill getting a chance.

Bull has seen enough of Gomber. Can’t say I disagree. Our old phriend pham is 3-3 and still stinging us.
Pretty slick double play to end the inning. Our boys look fresh and ready to play. Those two days off really seem to have made a difference.
Bull Shildt pushing the right buttons early in this one, putting the hit and run on with Edman and Goldy, avoiding the double play and leaving Edman in scoring position. Then Yadi with his patented poke to right to bring him in.
Good managing, good situational hitting. Classic Cardinal baseball! I love it!

So the Reds go scoreless in 22 innings in Atlanta. Against the worst starting pitching staff in the NL with an ERA over 5. That is pitiful.
They hit 90 HR’s this year. Only 3 teams in the NL hit more HR’s. But they were too reliant on the HR. They were 3-14 this year in games in which they did not hit a HR. Their team batting average of .212 was last in MLB.
Lots of HR’s, with lots of strikeouts, does not trump batting average and situational hitting. Even if you have good pitching. And it’s boring.
27, nice call on the platinum sombrero. Glad to see Young Master Bader make that nice catch at the end. Maybe that’ll get his dobber up for tomorrow.
Pugs, I’m going to choose to believe you were right about the night of Tatis,Jr.’s conception. It’s a perfect story, and we are allowed in 2020 to create our own facts, right?

Think I’ll sleep in tomorrow, wake up and have some coffee, then fix an early Pugs type din-din around the time of our 4 pm start. Yum poached eggs, bacon, pancakes with a little melted butter and maple syrup.

Wow. Carp takes it the opposite way to beat the shift and drive in a run. I haven’t seen him do that in like 4 years.

Man what a din-din Pugs. I’ll be dropping that marinated flank steak on the PK Grill somewhere around the 5th inning. Got some fresh homemade Pico de Gallo made from onions, salsa peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro from the garden. (Probably the last batch of the year, As the garden is waning).
But as the garden is waning, the Cardinals are waxing!

Twins lose their 17th straight playoff game.
That is an incredible statistic.
And they’ve had some good teams. In fact, they were the most impressive team I’ve seen this year (of course I only watch Cardinal games).
Point being, some teams can get it done in the playoffs, and some can’t. Our Cards have fallen into the former category more times than not in recent years. Let’s hope that continues tomorrow.
