Another walk. 4 times on base for Carlson today. We may be seeing him morph into a star before our eyes.

Yadi with the single. 1st and 3rd now for a rejuvenated Dejong. How about a big fly, Paul??

These national broadcasters saying that this is “Carlson’s breaking out game”. That news is so yesterday…..or last week as it was.

Dejong walks for Carp, who is in his favorite spot. Bases juiced.

Bases now at it’s full capacity with anxious Redbirds compliments of the Carpenter free pass. Time to put this game on ice.

Check that…..that was DeJong being issued the walk. DeJong does look a bit like Carp.

Pagan does not want to go 3-2 on Carp here..that’s Carp’s wheelhouse. He does…

Carp Ks. Ugh, that was a great opportunity to break it open.

    I wouldn’t mind Helsley again

Helsley was at 17 pitches or so after the last. Looks like he’s out there again.

Carlson looks to be gaining confidence. That makes all the difference.

Pham with the leadoff double. Helsley out. Cabrera coming in.

Not a good start to the bottom of the sixth.

1 pitch, hit by pitch. Tying run up.

    Edman blew it.

C’mon catch it Edman. Fowler hits the cutoff for the out.

Base running blunder……could be a game saver by day’s end

Well, the Pads get a run, but the Cards get the bases clear on the poor Padre base running.

Base running error helps the Redbirds! Padres make it 6-4, but now there are two down, no one out. Good defensive fundamentals by the Cards on that double play.

Weird zone for this ump. Definitely a low zone.

Our old phriend pham stings us again.

Getting a little tight now. Especially considering Pugs’ prediction. You are making me nervous Pugs.

Time to dive in to my sizzling steak fajitas.

Think I’ll have a strong margarita as well.

Cabrera is in. Hold on to your hats, boys!

Really terrible time for a walk. Cabrera has 0 confidence with the breaking ball. Looks like Gallegos now.

Bull bringing in our closer in the 6th to face Tatis. Managing another one like it’s game 7 of the World Series. Can’t say I disagree. 6-4 in the bottom of the 6th. 2 on, 2 out.

    Go Cards!

Not sure who is gonna pitch the rest of this game. You’ve got Gallegos, Reyes and Miller…? Webb? I suppose Gomber or Ponce could theoretically. The Cards are playing tight and those good chances to score may prove costly.
