Need a double play really badly here.

Nice play by Edman, but just couldn’t quite get the double play. 4-1

Nice play by Edmund to get one. Did not look like he had a chance to get the lead runner. Also gets Pham off the bases and leaves Moreland on second.

The defense is standing out again tonight. Latest play by Edman to save a run and get an out.

Wow Edman. Didn’t get the DP, but wow what a nice play.

    Brooks Robinsonish Pugs?

Pads just not swinging at anything not fully in the zone here, and the ump is not giving any room to him either. Wish he had the Davies zone.

I hope Waino can wiggle out of this.

Seems like they’re teeing off on Wainwright now. And now a wild pitch.

Well, there goes the chance at the double play. Yadi with a rare misplay.

Myers didn’t go to 2B, so still a chance for DP.

Guess the Pads didn’t get both runners over. Waino isn’t fooling anyone here. You wonder if Gomber won’t come in after this batter.

I think you gotta pull Waino.

Shildt giving Wainwright the hook. It’s the right call, Wainwright wasn’t missing any bats.

Bull has seen enough. Waino gets the hook. Can’t say I disagree.

    Go Cards.

Bases loaded again. Waino getting pulled. Our starters just didn’t get it done in this series so far. The Cards have way outplayed the Pads but are one swing from trailing.

Also, these ESPN announcers make me miss our guys. Awful.

    BrooksRobinish Pugs?

A very good analogy, Tinky! Now we need Austin Gomber to be a little JimPalmerish to get us out of this pickle.

Carter Le Grande in the house…..sweet!

Had him 0-2 and then walks him. Why seven straight fast balls?

Cronenworth’s strategy appears to be to avoid swinging at all costs. It might pay off. 0-2 becomes 3-2. Walk. Ugh. 4-2. This is the major danger zone. Can’t let these guys get anything more.

    The announcers are horrible!

Gomber’s problem often is that he comes in and gets on a run of throwing balls and can’t get off the train. Apparently he’s also scared to throw a breaking pitch.

Ten pitches, ten fastballs for Gomber. Does he not throw a breaking pitch anymore?

Gomber gets the K on his 13th straight fastball. Guess it’s Tatis again.
