Wow! Great start. Having to listen to the radio broadcast. Mike Shannon had a “sleepy” call on the Goldschmidt. He called like it was something Goldy does in most every AB.

Lead off walk to Tatis – not the way to start after being given 4. Not the way to start no matter what.

Those 4 runs should be good for about 25 innings for Kim.

Kim is a very routine-oriented guy. Wondering if he got cold and out of sync in the long top of the first.

Now a single on a 1-2. Seems like it might be “that” kind of game.

bikemike, funny you should mention Shannon sounding “sleepy”. I don’t usually listen to the radio side, but I had to do it twice in the car in the last week and I thought the same thing. Shannon sounded really muted, almost like he was disinterested. Rooney always helps him with details, but it seemed more than usual. Perhaps his age (81) is catching up with him.

Sac fly by Hosmer. They got a run back.

Kim is not used to being on the receiving end of such lofty support. Anybody have the numbers?

Kim gets Myers to K. Tommy Pham up now.

Kim gets out of it. After the rusty start, not too bad to get out with only one run. Now get back at it, bats!

Man what a din-din Pugs. I’ll be dropping that marinated flank steak on the PK Grill somewhere around the 5th inning. Got some fresh homemade Pico de Gallo made from onions, salsa peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro from the garden. (Probably the last batch of the year, As the garden is waning).

But as the garden is waning, the Cardinals are waxing!

Nice job by Kim settling down there and limiting the damage. Our boys look fresh and well rested. 4-0 Redbirds.

Great minds think alike. Here you go, Pugs.

Paddack looked better in that inning. Cards need to keep the pressure on next inning. If you can force the Pads to burn their bullpen early it could pay dividends the next two games.

Playoffs are a whole different story, especially when you haven’t played the team before. We let the Padres chip away at this and it will be trouble.

Man, three long flies to the track or worse. Bader could have done much better on the fly to the top of the wall.

    Need more runs.

These guys seem to be connecting hard on the Kim pitches. I probably wouldn’t mess around much if he gets in trouble in any inning going forward. Can’t let these guys get closer.

There we go. Kim gets out of it. Bend but don’t break. A Goldy big fly would make me feel better about the offense this coming inning.
