It should have read “swinging bunt”
If he was going to pull him with 1 out and 1 on from an infield hit, why didnt he pinch hit for him in the 5th?
TBS announcer surprised Waino hitting for himself? He didn’t do his prep work with who might hit off this STL bench.
I understand that opinion as well. Let’s hope whoever is in there can have a positive impact! I have a feeling DeJong is about to heat up. Hopefully these few days off are just what he needed.
“The infatuation over Arozarena and his 6 MLB hits is amazing. He was a .270 hitter until his freak year this season and this was his 2nd time around in AAA.He might prove to be okay in the future but what has he done to be playoff roster worthy?”
I won’t speak for others, but for me it is simply a question of if Arozarena can be more productive than Bader. I don’t know the answer to that given the very small sample size, but it is certainly a calculated risk I would happily take.
Goldschmidt’s numbers were in decline prior to signing with St. Louis. See here:
One could certainly argue that the STL front office ignored this data given what they agreed to for 6 years.
Shildt will need to answer why Cabrera was pulled after looking as good as he did. Puzzling move there

Rotate your phone 90 deg to see Carter’s posts.
Shildt should try watching a game on TV, that way he could see that Carp is not mentally prepared to be on a big league diamond right now. The dugout must be blinding him.
Nats announcers are saying the crowd has been lifeless this series. The Cards have been lifeless for a week now, so not surprising the crowd would mirror that.
You could hear the disappointment in Bob Carpenter’s voice, a native of St. Louis.
Here is an article breaking down Goldschmidt’s numbers. Doesn’t look promising.
