Not the best lineup but a spring training lineup. Against a rhp not ideal.

If I were Shildt I would wait to see if the Orioles job opens. They have a lot of good prospects coming up and it seems they could be getting better. The Padres clubhouse is tough I would stay clear. But it will depend which challenge is more appealing fixing the Padres or developing the Orioles.

Padres is tough gig a lot egos in that clubhouse but Shildt may have the right interpersonal skills to succeed there. Just a better bullpen managing strategy and who knows.

As far as the homer Gscottar, I and many friends watching the game called it.

I never said it cost him job. I said my reaction was I hoped it did. He seemed like a very nice man. Has nothing to do with a baseball decision. Wonderful people get fired all the time.

He was a better manager than Matheny but that’s not saying much. Was he the only person in the baseball world that did not know Reyes was going to give up a homer? The way he handled the bullpen this season was mediocre at best. I am saying this as my opinion only the moment that Reyes pitch left the park I did not want him as manager. I tweeted “I know he won’t be fired but this decision should cost him his job” Just my reaction no need to let me know how wonderful he was.

I don’t want Story either. But Schwarber is the type of player that can help.

My preference is Showalter but that is not going to happen.

I didn’t say that it has to come from outside of the organization. They just need one. If they are ready good, if not look for a solid bat it doesn’t have to be Bryce Harper.

They need a left handed bat. Especially if the DH comes to the NL.
