KeepComingBackParticipantLook at Alvarez #’s. That’s what a dh should look like. We waste that position by being cheap. Sign a professional dh and give your guys their days off.
KeepComingBackParticipantMy dad was working in Houston and I got to see Willie Mays. He was with the Mets and was completely done, but I didn’t care. I saw the greatest all around player of all time. The great Jimmy Wynn was the Astros big star. This was 1972
That same summer in Houston we saw Cassius Clay fight Jimmi Ellis. He was of course Muhammad Ali by than, but my dad wouldn’t call that.
Edit I fact checked myself. It was 1971. And Mays was in his last year with the giants. Definitely 1971.
KeepComingBackParticipantGuys asking out after 80 pitches—-???
KeepComingBackParticipantThanks for the history lesson Dom!
KeepComingBackParticipantI see most of Winns errors as mental-lack of concentration at times. That should get cleaned up as he matures a little more. If not, he won’t reach his potential. I don’t get into that conversation about Ozzie.
KeepComingBackParticipantI have long wished to see Liberatore in a role where he could put everything he has into 15 pitches. Still, I am not convinced they are done jerking him around.
You aren’t wrong. At least for the rest of this year. So tempting, though, to start him.
KeepComingBackParticipantIt would be huge if Carlson could come around. So frustrating the injury than the slow comeback.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf I was Burleson I would be tooting my horn. But I’m not Burleson.
KeepComingBackParticipantI’ve dutifully stayed aboard the Lib train. Can’t understand his relative lack of success.
KeepComingBackParticipantGoldy and Arenado make 2 of 3 outs in an inning AGAIN! That’s been consistently the sad truth for most of the season. We need to get them spread further apart I guess.
KeepComingBackParticipantBrandon Marsh looks like he sleeps in a downtown storefront.
KeepComingBackParticipantI guess Shady got the last laugh lawyer.
KeepComingBackParticipantAtta boy masyn. Yo Bike Mike. I’m long time rider. 44 miles with 3k vertical climbing this morning. Little less than 3hrs. I’m almost 67
KeepComingBackParticipantWhen a one tool players one tool is slumping its a problem. Especially when there’s no other healthy alternatives.
KeepComingBackParticipantIt is my impression that Winn hits higher in the order against LH’s and lower in the order against RH’s, which is ironic since he has reverse splits. But he also has a much higher batting average hitting lower in the lineup.
If you go to the beginning of this scrum, that was my original point. He’s hitting well and I would probably just leave him alone. That was an IF you move him up, he should be left there without jumping him up and down.
KeepComingBackParticipantIf noot ever shows consistent health I like winn/noot 1/2 and Donovan ninth. So really you have your wish every inning but the first.
KeepComingBackParticipantWe are on the same page LA. JJ I’m old school and still think the leadoff man should be able to run.
KeepComingBackParticipantOK LA bat him leadoff. But don’t jerk him back and forth between 8th and leadoff depending on the handness of the pitcher.
KeepComingBackParticipantBurleson should never bat before 5th. Winn should leadoff when ready. That’s the question, when is he ready? But if they decide that he is ready, he needs to be left there.
KeepComingBackParticipantAlbert I notice the same thing. Dang Mikolas makes one bad (horrible) pitch but otherwise pitched great. Let’s bail him out.
KeepComingBackParticipantThat was a batting practice pitch. Come on man.
KeepComingBackParticipant83 mph meatball middle middle.
KeepComingBackParticipantHence struck out 9 and walked 1-but gave up a hr and 4 er in 5 innings yesterday. Org loves strikeouts. So they love Hence. I’m skeptical of this player. I liked Graceffo before the shoulder. Mcgreevy always hot and cold. I don’t see anything but aaa pitchers here. Unless Bill wants to buy more pitching at the major league level or trade for pitching its as good as it’s going to get right now.
KeepComingBackParticipantYep if the offense continues to score and the pitching stays pretty good we have a pretty fair team to watch. I think they were pretty close to shooting Ollie and a few others out of the saddle when our resurgence started.

KeepComingBackParticipantHe’s managed to not only stay out of the way and not try to be too fancy, but has also done a nice job of not talking.
That’s my daily goal, Dom.
