He does have a 1.1 DWAR according to BR, so as far as the complete player argument is concerned, he seems to have some defensive tools, especially considering defense is far less likely to see a regression. Congrats to him on his success though. I’ll always remember him falling around third. It seemed like one of those moments someone doesn’t overcome hahaha

Yeah I hope O’Neill can change that approach in situations, BB. Let him play and (hopefully) becoming a more complete situational hitter. But right now he is a huge asset compared to our other options in the outfield (excluding Carlson). The OF of O’Neill, Bader, and Carlson seems to make the offense click big time compared and the guys behind them probably don’t have much business on a big league club (with the exception of Williams as a defensive sub). Sadly, we haven’t gotten too many looks at that OF due to injuries.

I’m not sold on Garcia. There’s a reason every mlb team passed on him. He had a 300 obp when he blasted a bunch of home runs in triple A. Honestly just surprised his hot start has lasted this long

I keep waiting on adolis Garcia to come back to earth. He keeps hitting bombs and is tied for MLB lead in home runs with 16

He is also second to Max Muncy in WAR among position players per BR

Garcia is slugging 700 against fastballs so maybe MLB pitching will catch onto that soon

That’s what we’re gonna get with O’Neill. If we get that I’ll take it though because his BA is way better than the guys on the bench as is. I think this lineup is so much better with him. I think that’s a product of pitchers knowing he can take any pitch out of the park, and how bad Williams, Thomas, etc. are with the bat

Not targeting anyone here, but what I see various places online is people complaining about O’Neill and wanting Gallo. Gallo walks way more but hits it even less and strikes out a ton too. This seems quite inconsistent and I just had to get it off my chest

I made it back to the game to see elite player Tommy Edman hit missiles. After last night I had to buy tickets to get back today (considering they were so cheap and I could make it happen). Unfortunately I can no longer wear cards gear to games as it has been deemed too unlucky. Wore a powder blue shirt instead. I will try a New Jersey but if it doesn’t work, I will gladly not wear cards gear to games for the sake of this team and community

Love to see a W. Great game for the cards today. With how the pen is I really hope hitting helmets isn’t getting in Cabrera’s head

The second Tommy Edman home run was hit so hard. The first was such a nice gap shot that was just hit too well for the park to come close to holding it. Loved to see Tommy have a good game

And throw out the stats. John Gant gives this team a chance to win every time he takes the bump

    Great win and go cards!

The organizational depth leaves a lot to be desired. Unless we are at full health, we have a dropoff to someone that is well below league average

Was great to see carp hit the ball hard last night (and seeing it in person, he certainly hit those two pretty hard)

I need to see a Cards win so I’m heading back down for the day game today

This does not look like a better than 500 team. I don’t know how you get as many pen arms as this team needs. And not like rest of team is good enough to pursue that

We had chances to tie up then Aubrey hit it to Indiana

Think we know what we’ve got. A team that takes care of bad teams but can’t compete with good ones

The chance to make it a game goes out the window with middle of order once again. With how I’m feeling wind the Carlson ball was a grand slam without it

Didnt think I’d post at game but 4 errors in 1+ is enough. This team is tragic right now. Count the error on the base paths and thats 5 errors

    Of course capped by errornado

I’ll be at the game tonight (my first of the year). Hope for a Cardinals win but at least a good game!

This lineup has seemed to do well when TO is hitting well. Even though his K-rate is extreme, I think that shows he is still a hitter that pitchers don’t want to face with men on, as he can hit a ball over the fence at any time with ease (yes, I’m aware he also misses a lot of balls)

    Enjoy the game everyone!

Love then it’s same for both sides. Half our pen is amazing half terrible. Does anyone want to join my Edmundo soda fan club

Also can’t blame bader too much on that shift. Should’ve been aware but that’s unfortunate. Good catch even with shift

It does but it’s your first game with the Cubs and it’s close. You’ve had two off days this week. Throw someone who doesn’t suck

Errornado’s gold glove must’ve been a product of meaningless games in Denver. Also love Schildt throwing all the worst guys in pen in first game against Cubs in a tight one. I’ve never liked schildt but he’s gotta go. He’s terrible

Gant seems to give us a chance to win every time he’s on the hill no matter what the projections say. I haven’t been able to watch all of his starts, but the walks seem to come into play more in the fifth and sixth, which you expect from a guy who has been in the pen for a couple years

I think you could do a lot worse in that rotation spot than Gant

Yeah, he’s in a solid spot to be the Cy Young Winner in the early going. Straight strength from O’Neill!

This is my last post because Bryan Walton is such a censoring xxxxx

The cardinals can not evaluate offensive talent and the only thing worse is how condescending Walton is. Goodbye board for good

Congrats on being a xxxxxx who acts like he knows something and has probably never even played a sport Walton. You’re a true champ
