It sure would be nice to win this one today and get out of town with at least one win. The Cubs are now just 1/2 game behind us and they are playing Pittsburgh. Having said all of this I am not expecting anything positive from the southside today. We will definitely need to win three of four in Arizona before heading to face the red hot Dodgers in Dodger Stadium.

Din-din today is the weekly trip to the Gasthof, the Amish restaurant. Won’t quite down as much due to the diet but no doubt fried chicken, fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, and a little cherry cobbler will be on the agenda. Perhaps even a little chocolate ice cream. And who knows, maybe they will finally have sweet potatoes today.

Gant pitching so not likely we will get way behind early again.

That is one pitiful lineup. We will be lucky to score two runs today. I am going to call this on 7-1 ChiSox.

And yes, I hope and pray I am wrong.

When the bottom of your lineup looks like that, I don’t know how you can expect to get a win.

I’ll say that Gant’s magic act ends as he gets tagged and the offense can’t make up the difference. 8-3, White Sox.

Half the lineup aren’t major leaguers.

We’re not going to get whomped by yet another Chicago team are we? Well, I guess we already have been, but can we save face and creep out of town today with at least one W against these pale stockings? Hell yes, I say. Let’s be optimistic and say a couple of home runs will be found for this Rodon fella and we squeak by 5-4.

    Rah Cardinals!

I just rose from the table after a very satisfying din-din of trout simmered in butter, fresh snap beans and new potatoes. And I managed to overcome wifey’s searing glare to fix myself a delicious chocolate sundae. Mmmm!

Oops. I now see it’s Gant who’ll be hurling, not literally, I hope, and a bunch of strangers occupying the bottom of the line-up. Oh well, guess I’ll just keep the above prediction. Who knows.

Lane Thomas isn’t a major league ballplayer.

I don’t think I have ever seen a pitcher get out of jamsthan Gant. He is Houdini.

Thomas, Moroff, and Williams look like high school hitters against Rodon. 6 Ks in PAs.

Just got back from the Amish restaurant. I see we have a grand total of one hit so far, that being Edman’s homerun. I am going to light up a cigar and finish watching the game.

    Here’s to a successful conclusion..:)

Why do the White Sox wear black sox?

Didn’t the replay rule used to be that if the player goes into the dugout, the play could not be overturned?

Did Moroff have time to separate himself from the bag, to prevent the swim move?

Why do the White Sox wear black sox?

I have asked that question for years. I guess they figure it works better with the uniforms. But they should have white socks, and could put some black stripes in them if they want some contrast.

Lane Thomas isn’t a major league ballplayer.

I do not follow the guys in the minors like a lot of people who regularly post on here, but something must have changed. You watch Thomas, and watch Arozarena, and there is no way you can say Thomas even looks like the player Arozarena is.

Randy’s approach at the plate is so much better than Lane’s, yet Thomas was always ranked higher in the prospect lists. Maybe Arozarena is more of a late bloomer.

Man, you look at that Sox lineup and their pitching, and once they get going they should run away with the AL central. That team is stacked, and they do not have Robert available. Add him to the mix and you really have a strong team.

My pre-season World Series prediction was White Sox-Reds. Cincy has not done a lot yet, and most likely the NL participant will come from the west coast. But as they say, there is still a lot of baseball to play.

Bummer, Moroff Ks again. How did he start over Sosa in that first game DeJong was out? You just look at the two guys and can see who is the better prospect.
